does anyone know a place / has a place that rents out wii games? in kl area preferably?

if there isnt one, why??

at least, how about shops that have a good collection of titles on site (not preorder)?

Well, reason there isn't is because there isn't really a good market base for that. Piracy has overwhelmed the value of getting originals in the first place.

that's a good question. malaysia piracy is in a very bad state, and that is a gross understatement. i live in philippine a long time and even a 3rd world country like that has more disciplined sellers and customers. rental shops make good money there too.

in malaysia, people like me who rely on original games are affected. coz it is hard to rent, trade, buy and sell wii games. so most of my games i source overseas or through preorder, which i would rather not. sangat memalukan being malaysian. it is all mentality. malaysians can afford original games. just look at ps3. it is the most popular console here although people cannot pirate.

ya its as easy as this - if u cant afford, dont buy at all rather than buying pirate..

well, when i browse online for titles, there is quite alot but when i go to shop they are hardly any, even to buy.

right now am looking for games for family/party fun (which is what wii is good at). any recomendations, n where i can find them (and reasonable price to expect?) ?

I've found Rayman Raving Rabbids 2 (should be cheaper to get now that there's a sequel to this-I think some stores still stock this) to be foolproof fun (the first one is good too) that anyone can play. Bomberman (WiiWare) is a great 4-8 player game that's fast and frantic and very easy to pick up and play. I've found that games like Super Smash Bros. Brawl & Super Mario Strikers Charged can be hard to grasp within 2 minutes (Ppl always spend the first few minutes going, 'what the hell is going on? what am I doing? Oh I died? Bummer'.) Both Brawl & Charged are hard to get in MY and you're better off scouring LowYat for sellers or you gotta shop online for them.

Let's not forget New Super Mario Bros now that it's available in Malaysian stores. I'd say forget the Mario party series games unless you've only got 4 players and some time to kill. 180-190 in most good game shops.

Ghost Squad (you'd be able to add in Dead Space and House of the Dead as well.) - some shops stock this and should be about 130
Boom Blox - ditto
Wii Sports & Sports Resort - Wii Sports came free with your Wii unless you pirated it. Sports Resort costs about 180-200
Bubble Bobble Plus - WiiWare download - 1000 points I think
Pop - WiiWare download - 800 points I think

my wii is mainly used for family fun! so these are my recommendations from the horses mouth:
1. Wii Sports resort (not to be confused with wii sports). think this can easily get from some forummers here. try kyoyagami)
2. Mario kart wii. this one i notice easily to get stocks from some shops
4. Rayman Raving Rabbids TV party. this one a bit difficult to get. but anyway.....

actually the list is a very long one. but i like to share what i have played and i think is a blast for parties and family.

RM 180. Sadly, it is a little bit expensive. And I have everything that Ramz recommended, probably not Mario Kart Wii because that is quite big.

Nah, Ooj only does PS3s.

they don't carry wii rental. to the majority rakyat, wii is perceived sama level with ps2, but the majority rakyat is wrong. wii is current gen. sama level with ps3.

but i personally don't believe in rental. done that been there, so i am speaking from experience. i am the type who plays them to death. and if i don't like it, i just sell it, so the difference in the buy and sell price is my rental fee. and so often after renting them, i find that i like it, so i buy it anyway, so rugi renting it. and there is the satisfaction of owning a game. u can touch, read it, and sleep with it. feels so good. that is why i also not like the idea of downloaded games, coz u don't really own it

But some of the Wiiware titles are pretty good though

your downloaded game is part of your console. its not a seperate entity like your disc games. so if your console rosak, or if u sell your console, or when u get a wii 2 to replace it, bye bye wiiware and Vitual console.

aahh, that's why we need the 4.1 update that allows us to transfer the games to an SD card

even if u transfer to an SD card, the wiiware/VC game is still tied to your console. otherwise we have situations where 1 person download a wiiware game and share it with say100 people. this is called piracy. but of course nintendo have thought about this scenario and don't allow u to do that.

oh ya ka? didn't know about that. worried for my console now then.
i'm sure nintendo allows legitimate buyers of wiiware/vc games to restore or redownload their games in the case of a hardware failure. Or maybe not.
