if got money, go A550, else, wait for few months for A450(without LV) to reach shore. (but waiting the few month could already have let u save up to a A550 too tongue.gif) or u can take a look at A500, which has same iso system, just some minor remove this and that.. no big deal

these two camera will last u longer then AX30

lol, thx 4 the info but i'm a beginner. Is it alright to have the a550? is it complicated to use its GUI? From wad i read, reviews said that the a230 has a new GUI which is noob-userfrendly =D ie: suits me. hmm.gif So, im wondering whether a550 has that GUI biggrin.gif thx agn...

Have you guys seen the new Sony Time 2010 promotion? I'm interested in this ad:

[attachmentid=1395615]

Does anybody know whether the 550 comes with lens or body only?

The 380 looks attractive at RM2599 with twin lens kit.

What do you guys think regarding this offer? Good?

I'm having a hard time deciding on whether to get the 380/550 or Canon 500D........  rclxub.gif

Note : I have no experience with DSLR but want to get a basic one. Sony DSLR looks more attractive to me as it has a good live view (I want to use the DSLR mainly for it's excellent point and shoot!!!!  doh.gif)

I read some reviews on those 2 models few days back...the only main factor that u should consider is that the a380 uses a normal CCD whereas the a550 uses ExmorR cmos. With exmor, u'll get a faster fps ie:faster speed, during burst and also, it should future prove for quite sometime =D Btw, im saving for that 550 drool.gif

....hmm din check it properly >_< but I'm just mention about the official Sony (China) A450 prices XD

by the way I found the biggest problem for the HDMI port..... I felt stupid on it, why? because they said you need a mini HDMI to HDMI port but surprisingly I found no where has the port to offer ...
*
Sonystyle malaysia...u can get the mini hdmi cable there...bear in mind that it doesn't come cheap =D

Braindead_fr3ak/achew/V12kompressor : lol, thx 4 the corrections. I screwed up big time on that sensor thingy cry.gif Most probably thats bcoz i read on camcorders 1st b4 heading to alphas sad.gif

V12kompressor : haha, u've got a good point there. Too bad, i got no gf cry.gif

Kevinwcw : I thought of it too but i'm worried about the performance i'll get from the CCD. And that's why i asked the pros here biggrin.gif

Neo_lan : I wanted to wait for that model too. But, it seems like Sony had stripped off the tilting screen & smile shutter cry.gif [citation needed]

PS: thx 4 all the advice guys =D

V12kompressor : lol, seems like no matter what, a550 does come in handy =D

V12kompressor/neo_lan/kevinwcw : well, since im used to digital cams, i guess i need that LV tongue.gif

PS: i read through the spec of a450...seems perfect xcept for the tilting screen/screen size/smile shutter/quick af lv cry.gif

Yup. One of the worst viewfinder on a DSLR (read from many reviews of the a550). However, I plan to be a noob-using-liveview-all-the-time DSLR user..... no joke!!!!  blush.gif
