my experience with my 8mm fisheye

as stated, 8mm is really really really really really wide, so wide that sometimes it's hard to control. and u have to stand to close to the subject just to make a tight frame... which u become the big block of wall infront of others.

i jsut took these photo last night, i must be really crazy and daring to actually used a FishEye for a wedding job.... lol, will pass the work to the couple tomolo, finger crossed. hope they aren't dissapointed.
*

Is it difficult to focus with fish-eye? cos the photos are not sharp and also some how doesnot look "clean" & under exposed IMHO.

n/b: I never had a fisheye lense before.

Actually your pix #2, somehow my attention keep drawing to the partial picture of the stilt house... wishing to see more of the stilt house ie not enough width. That was why I mentioned the UWA smile.gif

Can anyone suggest a good book digital photography? Im not seeking for a very basic book... but a more intermediate level.

Things I need to grasp are such as:
1- lens's focus distance - whats the significant /effect in our photo shot.
2- magnification eg 1:1, 1:4 etc... what significant in our shooting.
3- macro photography
4- flash photography
5- WB settings and anomalies such as in a bright purple / red surrounding etc
and other tips and tricks of digital photography.
etc

oh yes, also on fisheye smile.gif

High-speed Transcend Ultimate Class 10 SDHC Cards
user posted image
So you’ve probably gotten your Christmas present, perhaps your long-awaited gadget that can capture Full HD videos, or that new camera that allows you to snap pictures with a megapixel count so high, you can blow the picture up to a big banner; what’s the use without a memory card that can’t let you fully utilize your powerful gadget? Transcend recently just announced its Ultimate Class 10 SDHC cards with the ability to transfer at a speed of up to 20MB/s and with a large storage capacity of up to 16GB.

Compared with Class 6 SD cards that only guarantee write speeds starting from 6MB/s, the new Class10 SDHC can write up to a whooping 16MB/s and read up to 20MB/s. This allows for smooth and lag-free usage, especially when recording Full HD videos at 60fps. Highly recommended for entry to mid-level digital camera or camcorder users, the new range of SDHC cards are available ranging from 4GB to 16GB. The 16GB version can store more than 6000 images at 5-megapixels, or up to 240 minutes of HD video. Why carry around so many memory cards and risk loosing them, when all you need for your holiday is just one?

hi all pro~ i wanna ask A330 and A350 wat different har? any advantages and disadvantages? wat the strong mainpoint to compare with canon 450D/500D/1000D?
*

The bros have answered...
Just to add...

If compared to canon 450D/500D/1000D... try sony's Quick Live View. meaning if you are using the sony Alpha LCD when shooting... you will notice that there's some lag of image in the LCD for canon compared to sony cameras. That is the difference with Sony's QUICK LiveView compared to Canons LiveView feature.

Also in Sony camera, has the in-body stabilization. Meaning with any lens you use on the Sony Alpha cameras, you will get image stabilization. Compared to the canon 450/500/1000D which have no in-body stabilization. ie The only way to get stabilazation (like sony) is by buying Canon lens that have the in-lens stabilization ... which is much much expensive.

However, the jpeg image quality of Canon at high ISOs are said to be much much better than the Sony A330 & A350. If you are concern with high ISO image jpeg quality, I suggest you consider Sony A550 or "soon to be released" A450

Hi guys/gals,

Need second opinion.
Should I get a550 + CZ1680 or
a550 + Tammy 1750 f2.8 ?
or a550 + Sigma 1850 f2.8 EX DC Macro HSM ?

of course Tammy, Siggy are cheaper and faster lens... but CZ is ... well a Zeiss ... smile.gif
So, if you, which one would you pick ?

CZ for the sharpness..
tammy and siggy for the fast lens.. (F2.8 constant)
but if u can afford.. i think CZ i value because of the sharpness + zoom length icon_rolleyes.gif
*

ayoooyoo... 2 out of 2 suggest the CZ ... sakit woo my wallet laugh.gif
Im also leaning on the CZ but takut not fast enough. But the Tammy and Siggy on the other hand not sharp at wide open ie sharp after f4 and above aperture.

Would the CZ be good fast enough for indoor sports eg futsal game?

Or any other lens suggestion? Im looking for a walkaround carry lens.

Is the 1680 f3.5-4.5 ok (ie fast enough & long enough) for indoor sports photo? eg futsal match etc?
Do I need a faster lense?
Pls share your experience / view.
(Camera body is A550 ie with A550, I dont mind bumping the ISO higher to 1600 )

i also suggest go straight for 1750 f2.8 constant......got a few sellers in garage sale
*

The fast & constant f2.8 is very tempting indeed (plus the much cheaper price compared to the CZ)
Which would you choose, the tammy or sigma ? but sigma got the gear striping problem... takut kena sad.gif

noob question here:
from the pic above the lens got the AF/MF switch, but our alpha got the switch too right? wat happened if we turn 1 to AF n the other to MF?
*

From A5x0 Manual...

if lens have the AF/MF swtch... the manual says that you should always set the body switch to AF, and adjust the lens switch for AF or MF.

So, if you want to use:

1- auto focus (AF):
Body (A550) switch : AF
Lens switch : AF

2- manual focus (MF):
Body (A550) switch : AF
Lens switch : MF
