im always the fan of center focus point n recompose..wahahaha..altho i know the distance changes a lil when i recompose..but i guess so far the DoF is stil deep enough to cover my usage for portrait/event..for the rest(toy..bug..landscape) i usually use manual focusing..

basically..i don have a specific sequence/way to change the color tone...but everytime i change it..i normally :

-play with the curve(to adjust the highlight/shadow..normally 1 for highlight 1 for shadow)
-create adjustment layer using photo filter
-make a new layer n put the color u want in..change the layer mode(overlay..multiply..etc ect) and adjust the opacity
-desaturate/use monochrome if needed..

i think the 2,3 what u need..1st one doesnt really change the tone..lol..but i'll usually do that together.. =p

thanks bro hazril & achew..
yes..i'll use manual focus if i can't really get focus on my object.

care to share any shortcut buttons that 'hidden' in our alpha?
at the moment..i just know how to adjust aperture by holding white balance button + increase/decrease scroll..sorry a newbie here  whistling.gif
*
most of the button settings r inside the manual...i think it'd b easier if u have a specific thing want to do and ask me what button to press..lol..rather than we tell u everything already written in the manual..if u r on aperture priority..u can control the F by just scrolling the wheel...so i guess u r in other mode most of the time?

about the focus thingy..u might not need to use manual u know..i was just saying my way of using it...u can always try diff focus mode to see which one suits u more..or use my recompose method..

actually do u think the 921k lcd is necessary? how bout the noise control?
http://www.photographybay.com/2009/11/30/s...so-comparisons/
according to the above website, seems like a550 has better noise control. but i not sure whether it is reliable or not... haha
*
err..depend on the price..if its not alot diff of coz i'd get 550...to me FPS is more impt than lcd..better lcd is good to have..but dont have also wont die...coz i dont view my shots with the LCD very often(other than checking focus/exposure)..

if anything around 200sgd..i probably wont think so much..just get 550..

Ooo, sweet! But then it is known that Sony uses Nikon steppers.
*
my company in singapore(not sure about the branch in italy/france or other europe country..they r much advanced than us) use Canon Steppers and ASML...but i think HP(yea im transfering HP stuff) is using Nikon scanner...and they request us to use it if we gonna take over their product...so had to learn new machine..sigh...

so now im basically a sony+nikon+canon user... =)

if u really really think u only need a compact flash that is slightly better than ur built-in flash(eg. can bounce..adjustable power..blablabla)..F20 is the one u need... low budget n light weight......

however..if u r slightly more serious about ur photos..and u wanna play with wireless etc etc...F42 n F58 is the one to go...

make ur choice carefully..no point to buy 1 thing n then regretted n sell it after few weeks or months...

if i'm not mistaken..original sony filter uses CS right? hmm.. hmm.gif

cz u mean???
i dont get what u mean by "original sony filter"..normally it doesnt comes with any filter..even if it does..it comes with a cheap one..all those good filter cost 100~200/300bucks...i don think they will giv u anything like that for free...

saturation works fine for me..but imo the signature catches too much attention..
