hi guys, im back =)
like any other rabbit owners out there
im having a hard time getting oxbow bunny basics T pellets..
is there any other brand of pellets that is as good as oxbow out there?
why do stocks have to run out that fast..=(

just a few weeks back
i bought a bag of 4kg bunny basics T pellets for rm25 from a fellow lyn member, who was selling it off 'cause her rabbit doesnt fancy it.
i should have known better..
turns out
the pellets didnt smell rite
and the expiry date is ilegible..
@@
hunny refused to eat any of the pellets i bought
so i confronted the seller about the expiry date and weird smell
according to her,
"it says 27 JAN 2011 if you see carefully."
when the only letters and numbers i can see are 'AN 27 20'
"well, that is really weird, because i hardly used much of it. but some of it did got mixed with my old pellets because i transfered it to a smaller container. do try feeding it for a couple more days, if it isn't working then I'm really really sorry there's nothing i can do about it."
if she had told me the mixing part earlier, i wouldnt have bought that bag of pellets from her
who would have thought to ask this before purchasing a bag of pellets which was claimed to be oxbow bunny basics T...
never bother to continue asking her about the old pellets after that..
anyway..
the only thing i can say is that im totally disappointed *sigh*
what am i going to do with that bag of unidentified pellets...T^T

yup..the seller herself has rabbits of her own
tsk tsk
why do such things to fellow rabbit owners..

Pro optimum? this goes out of stock quite fast as well
doesnt used to be this hard to get pellets
i guess there are more people having rabbits as pets now ^^"
anyway..i think i'll get the pellets online and have them send over
save me the time and trips to go from petshops to petshops then ended up going home empty handed =(

bunny flop, hehe
please dont mind the quality of the pic
it was taken using my lousy cellphone
have to capture this quickly 'cause he's one light sleeper

i was wondering,
is it ok to feed hunny orchard grass instead of timothy?
'cause he likes orchard grass more
he can finish a 400+g pack in 2 weeks time
since i switch him back to timothy
he hasnt been eating much rclxub.gif

@Jean_ne

how old is ur bunny? at what age can introduce to other foods n treats?

mine is like 2months++ n edy eat fruits like apples, bananas n even rambutan.. (my mom gave) doh.gif

not try giving him veges yet, coz i also dun like veges n fail to identify them tongue.gif

kinda worried coz afraid he might getting diarrhea
*
well..hunny's a big boy
should be one year and 3 months old now
hmm..im kinda new in keeping a bunny myself
and when i got hunny
he's already 6 months old
but, i dont think it is such a good idea to give rabbit that young fruits
like banana is high in sugar content
veggie is good for them, im not sure how much to give though
like wat sangterap said, moderation is the key
i tried to keep hunny's diet simple, which consist of pellets and hay most of the time
only feed him veggies occasionally
he likes bok choy the most ^^

http://www.rabbit.org/faq/sections/diet.html#veggies
go there, i get most of my info from there and of course from the sifus in this thread ^^
do post pictures of your bunny, would really love to meet him~

no specific brands?  unsure.gif
*
about brands..
hunny enjoys oxbow the most, but it's a little pricey
kaytee is fine
living world too
both tend to be less fresh sometimes
u can try getting hay from chubbypetsgarden
it's affordable and the quality of hay is quite gd ^^

just a reminder
be careful when lettin him roam about in areas with electrical cables
rabbits tend to chew on wires and cables

hmmmm, a bit disappointed with my fav pet store. usually they are quite responsible, selling rabbits over 3 months old. but today i was surprised to see rabbits age "5 weeks onwards" displayed in the window. they looked so small. think i'm running out of petshops to buy from.

Hi refering to above picture (not mine)

My baby rabbits, all of them got infected by this kind of disease, it looks exactly like that. What is this? Does this can be healed by itself? Or do I need to buy certain meds or get to the vet promptly? Thanks in advance.
*
i think your rabbits have got mange, previously my rabbit got these symptoms too..
dont think they heal on their own
i took my rabbit to the vet,
the vet gave him an injection on the first visit
needs 2 injections for full recovery
p.s. u need to disinfect their cages n stuff to stop it from spreadin

So there is no other solution? Vet is expensive, I thought I can get somekind of meds for them and can be taken orally.
I dont know. They just got the disease suddenly, start of with one rabbit, then the others. My rabbits do eat flowers.

Eventually when rabbit get older, it will grow longer.
*

if that is your plan..u still need to go to the vet to get the meds?
where else u can find meds for your rabbits?
the fastest and the easiest way would be the vet im afraid..
2 visits to the vet cost me around 50 bucks or lesser..i cant really rmb..
i hope you had separated those which are infested from those which are not
it tends to spread..=)

vincentwee, U are not really know how to take care a rabbit.. my suggestion to you, don't ever think after u beat your rabbit it will listen to you. For your information, rabbit will remember who ever beat it clearly. If u keep on do like this, it is very hard for your rabbit to obey you as master.
Rabbit is not a dog. U cannot rare a rabbit using a way same like dog. Rabbit is a soft and kind personality animal. U must have patient to your rabbit. DON"T BEAT IT ANYMORE. Violent cannot solve your problem.
If u keep on beat it, u are making a miserable life for your rabbit. Why are u do so? I believe u think to bring it home because u have a kind heart like all the rabbit owner does.
I hope u can love your rabbit with a right way. DON"T HURT YOUR RABBIT!

Anyways here is my lovely ND, Alvin smile.gif
