That's because you really day-dreaming lol , because you say your 19" native is 1440x900 , there's no way it can support higher resolution . i play with 1440x900,but oso try with 1920 x 1080 feel no different.

As 1920x1080 isn't supported , your monitor might automatically convert back to "safe" resolution , hence 640x480 .
