Hello
I am currently in the UK and planning to ship some of my stuff back to Malaysia (1 box with 4 years worth of notes and 1 luggage of winter clothing). Any reliable and reasonably priced sea freight service?

Thanks!

I have a recent order from my US supplier which they shipped my package of 21lbs via UPS. They charged me USD 82.73 which I thought very expensive. But when I went through the websites you mentioned here like VIAddress and VPost, their shipping charge is still more expensive than my supplier charged me. So I wonder if I should just remain as it is...

i think the charge of USD 82.73 for 21 lbs is quite reasonable. where did you buy items with such shipping cost?

My supplier is an US-based book distribution company: Ingram Content Group. Guess I'll just stick to their shipping service. biggrin.gif

21 lbs = 9.5 kg
With comgateway, regular account costs you:

First 0.5 kg = US$ 20.75
Every additional 0.5 kg = US$ 3.25

Total for your parcel, shipped with DHL might be:

(1x20.75) + (18x3,25) = USD 79.25

Btw, from the UPS tracking service, my supplier ship to me using UPS Worldwide Saver. I heard UPS is the most expensive courier service in US, followed by Fedex and DHL. Not sure whether it's true or not.

There is surcharge on top that around 10% but would be even off if you are on prime account. Also, delivery will be upgraded to worldwide express if you are on prime account too ie around 3 days to reach destination in klang valley.

it seems that u have many experiences using forwarder.. nod.gif so, just jump to conclusion, it can be said that comgateway is better and cheaper than any other forwarder? i just dizzy and confuse about the courier service in malaysia, after our items arrived. if we deal with fedex from beginning (from the time we buy and pay for shipping cost),then their service will be continued until the item reach to our house, right? what about the other couriers? e.g Pos Laju, UPS, DHL, and TNT ? (I just knew that there was a service called TNT lol)

one more thing, does recipient/buyer (ourselves) need to pay to the courier when they pickup and send to us the item?

The shipping cost you posted here doesn't include fuel surcharge and other fees like insurance, duties and custom clearance fee right?

I used Pal Shipping for mine, it is a bit slow on the feedback once you put it your order, I had to leave my stuff with my housemate before they came and collect it, although you can make the booking a lot earlier. Took about 2 month ++ to reach my home but everything arrived safely and intact.
