WOW!! Finally! Hahha this is really a "by discovery" of the problems we were discussing.
I was finding a way to display the time while it is locked!!! rclxm9.gif What New Year discovery.

No, yours still not as big as mine...

Added on January 1, 2010, 12:16 amOh regarding bout the square or circle lens... I'm not very sure. I saw the demo model at one utama (white), it came with round lens, but the D-pad was fixed nicely.

If mine is normal, then I could not imagine how big the gap is on your unit shocking.gif

BingYao, you mean clock when it's locked/power saver mode? I thought it's normal to have it there... mine always show the clock during power saver mode... the menu light even blink at certain intervals.
*
Ya..the clock during power saver mode will disappear directly when you press any key. That's why I could not find any usage of it. I was kind of disappointed initially as my previous SE phones can show the clock just by pressing the volume key during standby mode.

But now Bing Yao has found that way. biggrin.gif

You mean, you want to write Chinese in SMS or you want Chinese as the menu language?

Hi guys,

I'm thinking of getting a N86. I tried the phone and when i open, scroll the Image menu. It seems to be lagging and the transition is not smooth.
Does it happened to you guys? Is it a firmware or hardware issue?

Also, how's the Garmin has been performing? Is the signal good? Does it hang/lag during recalculation, signal always drop or any issues on it?

Thanks in advance.
*
You asked at the right time. Yesterday my friend was using his 5800XM for GPS and the route recalculating time takes longer than my N86.

I do not find the menu is lagging. May be it's my firmware is V11. I do not know the menu performance for V20.

Sometimes without using the phone.. I can feel the battery is warm..
*
Today I turned on Garmin and turned it off after 5 minutes and left the phone aside. After some time, I grab the phone and feel the back panel was warm and the phone turned into power saving mode. I guess there are some processes which was not turned off that caused the phone battery drained.

By the way, anyone of you have dust entering the screen from the top left corner? I am having it now and its annoying, just like a bulk of dust gathered on the top left corner. I guess the dust went in from the back sliding rail. Plan to send it to Nokia Service Centre to do the cleaning. rclxub.gif

Bing yao, among all the phones that i've changed, I still like this phone very much. I know this will be my lasting phone when I decided to copy my SIM card numbers into the phone memory.

Very nice D-pad!

But why ours are not like that? Answer as below:

It is a dummy unit.

Just sent my N86 to NSC in Melaka.

Initially, I just wanted them to help me to clean the dust inside the screen. They said no problem.

Then I just try my luck to see whether they can change the screen for 1 dead pixel and surprisingly, they response positively. smile.gif

So I just go ahead to claim the screen. I guess Ori set is worth the price. Hehe...

How does the autofocus perform in V21? And also the face detection?
From other forums, they said V20 will focus on things which are not supposed to be focused.

Anyone noticed scratches made by the slider on the keypad? Or is it because I used the slider too rough...
*
I think the slide really touches the keypad, but the coating on the number keys prevents the key to be scratched.

Found one "serious" issue here...

I went for travelling for 4 days and I forgot to bring my charger. The problem is.... microUSB charger is rare, compared to SE charger and other Nokias. cry.gif

So I could only see my N86 but can't use it for 2 days after the battery flat.

Hi5!  tongue.gif  I'm same with you... V11 not yet upgrade to any. Do tell me the feedback of this V21...  icon_rolleyes.gif
*
Upgraded to V21 d...
Camera focus is very fast, just like SE Cybershot now. And the focus point has changed.
The phone overall speed is the same as V11, no lags.
Ovi Chat appears in the Active standby.

The bad: I noticed the icon for Music folder has became the normal file folder.
Many ppl said the macro has improved, but I found that it is almost the same as V11 macro range.
When rotating with theme effect turned on, the 1/4 bottom part will lag.

By the way, I hacked mine before upgrading. So now it is still in hacked status.
