Many la.My fault that my statement is too general coz Gundam also forced the teenage protagonist to ride a mecha.

Well all I wanna say that the similarity is much much too close between EVA and Fafner.

-In Eva, they live in a fortress city build for last hope of mankind.In Fafner also the same they live in a remote Island which stands as a final hope for human species
-Both anime fight some kind of monster(angels in EVA and Festum in Fafner)
-In both anime, the teenagers were selected and recruited based on their synch with the mecha.
-In both anime, the adults were doing nothing.Why werent they are the one who ride the mecha instead of the children?
-both ending sux(for me la ).But positvely both have great story development.

Just my 2cent.

Btw bout the pilot, only the children have some kinda factor which allows them to pilot a Fafner, hence the reason why the adults don't become the pilot.

when i watch fafner i feel like it is the combination of evangelion + gundam seed

for me is more of marcoss and evangelion
