Anyone does this using the AVR feature and how is the performance such as upscaling Astro SD signal?

this avr got video scaler from Faroudja, can only do analog video conversion

Not sure about the model you are referring to, but PDA-V100 HD, which also have Faroudja chipped is a piece of crap with serious chroma delay. I can only imagine the same would happen to this model.

If you want a more affordable upscaler you could try DVDO Edge, the cheapest from the Anchor Bay family.

Doesn't the 1019 model use the lower end Anchor Bay Chip ?

according to Engadget, 1019 is using Anchor Bay VRS chip...low end mehh? suppose to be a good video processing chip...

The Denon 1910 ABT chip is higher than the one used in Pioneer 1019.

Low or high end it doesn't matter, it seems to me Pioneer doesn't know how to utilize good chips in their AVR systems
