Wonder anyone here do purchase extended warranty for their new invested Plasma/LCD/LED TV?

Could anyone explained what do SONY 2 years warranty actually meant?? I got mix response from
salesman,

* 2 Year warranty for part and labor
* 1 Year warranty for the LCD panel only (why only 1 year)
*
this basically means :

1) They tested the other parts on the tv and they should last at least 2 yrs hence the 2 yrs warranty
2) They've tested the LCD panels and should last at least 1 yr hence the 1 yr warranty

Samsung offer 2 years for part and labor and even for its LCD panel, while Panasonic offer 3 years warranty on its LCD TV range (correct if i am wrong)

What if
1) the back-light of the LCD TV got spoil,
2) dead pixel appear on the LCD TV,
3) can't turn on LCD TV

so will SONY honor their warranty?
