Hi, i'm a praying mantis fan too.
I have been having praying mantis as a pet since small boy, but never breed any b4.
Normally i kept them until they grow their wings, then i'll release them.

In my house garden very often can see green mantis, until 1 day i found solid black mantis in Johor, i brought back home at put at my garden, after months, i saw eggs hatching full of baby mantis... some solid green, some solid black, some black & green mix, some green legs, some black legs... wonderful hybrid.

Recently, 1yr+ ago, i found my garden orkid got new mantis, their back are shorter & rounded. Some green, some black, some olive green, some mix colors... Here i share some of their pics:

would you be interested in going to tapa hill to catch me rare mantis, like toxodera species? how much, more than 1,000.00, do you agree?

OMG... Now only i notice this thread. I love praying mantis so much. Last time when i was form 6, i catch insect for biology project. then i got mantis. they are so cute!! but now i don't own any mantis.

praying mantis is good, but they fly. right? i got phobia on any insects with 6legs, and FLYING ~
how do you guys put them on the box and capture so close picture without them flying?

Didnt manage to breed any, most end up male got cannibalize cause mated too early lol..........

I thought there was a time when you got sell d, dessicata nymphs?
Your other mantis like T. Elegans all gone? Where did you collect them from?

Oh dessicata all sold, that one also i bought ootheca not breed myself
Those old mantis die of old age or fail mating mostly
I got them from various seller

oh i see, sad you lost them like that :/
