Let down by bad response to complaint about TV set

I BOUGHT a new Samsung Plasma 42-inch TV from E.S.H. (M) Sdn Bhd in SS 2/24 on Dec 3 with full payment.

The TV set was delivered to my house the following day at 5pm and tested fine.

On Dec 10, after only six days of use, the new TV set did not produce any image but the audio (sound) was alright. I called the dealer who advised me to report it to Samsung directly.

On Dec 12, I called Samsung Careline at 9am to lodge my complaint. I was given the report No. 2000847115 and was told that a Samsung technician would be dispatched to my house to check on it.

On Dec 14, I called the careline again, and was told that the technician would be coming. But no one came. The next day I called again. Still the answer was that the technician would come. Nobody turned up or even called me.

On Dec 16, I called again at 9.30am to inquire about my report and was told to wait until 3pm and to call if no one turned up.

At 3.45pm, I called, this time feeling annoyed and angry. I told the Careline staff that my family had anticipated watching the Sea Games Football Finals between Malaysia and Vietnam to be aired live on TV the next day, and urged them to do something immediately to enable us to watch the game.

Finally at 6.15pm, one technician came to inspect my TV. I was told that the parts needed to repair my television set would only be available the following week or maybe later.

I was very disappointed because:

1. The set that I bought is a brand new Samsung TV, which I thought was of a very high quality and standard. But now I have second thoughts about Samsung.

2. The response time taken to attend to my complaint was very bad.

3. The hopes of my family and friends who anticipated watching the finals of the Sea Games football match between Malaysia and Vietnam were shattered.

4. All Malaysians, including myself, my family and friends, waited anxiously for 20 years for the much-anticipated football finals. We wanted to watch the historic event with the greatest enthusiasm, but Samsung’s lackadaisical attitude and very bad management have ruined our mood and destroyed our spirits.

5. I am now in the process of talking to our lawyers and contemplating legal action against Samsung.

ANGRY CUSTOMER,
Petaling Jaya.

it's rather unusual for the dealers to ask the end buyer to call the manufacturers direct.

for my case, i call my dealer and the next day, samsung call me . easy and with no fuss and frills
