I don't have any extra home theater system, only from HD TV. For now, the picture quality for HD channels are top notch! Sounds quality for HD channels are ok, but for other channels, they're a little bit low. I have to turn up the volume way above the previous settings (20 vs 60 for my TV)

Just got it installed this afternoon. Playing it on my 50" plasma (hd-ready at 1366x768), i find NO difference in terms of pq for the 2 channels that I am entitled to (Nat Geo and History). I am going to call Astro tomorrow. Something must be wrong with my setup. I had come to expect good pq, no worse than my POHD.

I think perhaps I should ask some questions in relation to the topics here. The other topics are preoccupied by the would-be consumers.
1. Can anyone compare the old Astro sound quality, as in its native 5.1 form through feeding from the normal RCA cable, with the new Byond, either via HDMI, Digital CoAxial cable or the RCA cables.
2. How is the new decoder fair on the existing Astro Radio channels? I mean how is the dynamics etc..?
3. In HBO HD channel, do they broadcast the movie in DTS form as well ?
Appreciate the answers. Thanks.
