QUOTE(cytan30 @ Dec 19 2009, 11:26 PM) Not sure when AC Ryan will support external BD Rom.. anyone any ideal??? Once AC Ryan support external BD ROM, I think practically all format will be supported and again if we wanted to watch via VCD Disc, DVD Disc or Blu-Ray Disc will not be a problem. what kind of BD you want to watch? even if it could recognize the BD rom drive, it won't play original Blu-rays disc.. at best you will be only able to read BD data disc.. (like a external HDD)

QUOTE(piscesguy @ Dec 20 2009, 12:30 PM) Their firmware update 9) Add external USB DVD-ROM support** **Due to CSS (Content-Scrambling System) present in DVD movie discs, the system accepts only un-protected DVD movie discs. BD-rom support should be available in the future. http://www.acryan.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=39&t=1826but what's the point? you cant pop in and play commercial protected BDs...

QUOTE(Skylinestar @ Dec 20 2009, 12:06 PM) some did mention about the limited low memory available, thus only support BDlite instead of the full BD. you can only treat it as a BD-rom (read computer files like avi/mkv, largest m2ts file in BDMV/ISO folder) rather than direct Blu-ray disc playback.. will never get full BD playback due to AACS and BDJ.. Added on December 20, 2009, 12:46 pmQUOTE(piscesguy @ Dec 20 2009, 12:44 PM) Perhaps can play those "ahem" BD-R. oh... hacked and unprotected BD-R.. forgot abt that.. (I wonder how much is the ahem BDs now?) also insufficient capability to play BDJ, maybe just load via BDlite (guessing the m2ts file) This post has been edited by ar188: Dec 20 2009, 12:46 PM
