I've been saying through and through, many times through countless of threads, its the central midfield that we are weak at.
We can't have Rooney playing at all positions, and now it seems we're putting all of Ronaldo's burden on him. He's not Ronaldo, he's just a brute striker with a finish to match (given the opportunity) For now, I don't see Fletcher, nor Carrick, or ANY of our central midfielders playing at a top level, we're winning , but our game isn't as good as Beck's era, or in Ronaldo's era. Transition period? to WHAT? Unless SAF gets someone, preferably from a transfer (and who is world class) I could only see us playing more and more like last night. |

QUOTE(Sheep319 @ Dec 28 2009, 12:51 PM) WOOT WOOT I don't have any faith in fletch lar.Anyway, Central midfield and strikers are sometimes inconsistent in their form on the pitch. One time they're godlike, another they're humanlike. Hard to predict how they will perform. Letak dia depan xavi/iniesta/kaka/lampard/goku hilang. Edit: To zeten, weren't they playing in their usual position, last night? I didn't see any penetrating passes, everything seems to go to the flanks, relying on crosses when theres noone to aim to in the box. And if you guys noticed, everyone seemed to take a touch or two more, one touch football will break the defence easily. This post has been edited by headhunter7: Dec 28 2009, 01:06 PM |

Our flanks are more than capable to cross in balls , provided that they have someone to aim to.
Yeah true we don't really need a world class player, but the thing is I have no clue in what SAF is thinking right now, having seen last nights performance. Carrick could stand there to be a central midfielder, but someone who works the ball in the attack part of the midfield isn't there in our bench. |

I'm not bashing fletcher at all, its just that this is just the EPL, if we cant beat the lower league teams then how are we to compete in the champions league?
I dont see him succeed the great midfielders, and if you wanna give hime time , til when? He's been here about 7-8 years already hasnt he? I'm contemplating on how he plays the game. Villa, Spurs and Fulham have that driving force in their game, I dont see it in our midfielders. Seriously. my 2 cents. I'm not gunning on SAF to go on buy some world class players, this aint PES2010 I know, but at least someone who can break defences time and time again. |
