QUOTE(millenniummonkey @ May 4 2010, 09:58 PM) theoretically, any local bank's card bearing the logo amex, visa, or mastercard will be accepted overseas... although to be on the safe side, try applying from well-known international bank such as hsbc, scb, etc. but since it's a spare card, i guess just go for the card most suitable (in cashback, dining discounts, etc.) for you regardless local or international... thanks alot bro. really apperciate ur feedback. will consider either HSBC or SNC. which one provide the best cashback?

QUOTE(MilesAndMore @ May 4 2010, 10:20 PM) If you want a card from another internationally known bank, i'd say go for HSBC. It is a highly recognizable bank in US especially in the New York State as most of their 300+ banking branches are actually located there. Besides, many have complained that the forex charged by Standard Chartered credit card is very high compared to all other banks. Standard Chartered is big and famous in Asia but not a very known bank in the US/Europe. In terms of their cash back or cash vouchers value, they are more or less the same. allright bro, HSBC it is then thanks. p/s: agree that SnC sucks as i used the card before, the customer service is shit
