can anyone help me to clarify about BT programme (CIMB 0% BT is so interesting). Can the amount to be transferred more than the statement balance considering that we might have future transaction on going. would like to utilize this but normally I don't have any outstanding balance as payment was made full every month

QUOTE(winner @ Dec 20 2009, 06:21 PM) If you don't have outstanding balance, how to do transfer?! That is the basic requirement. that's true. but we might have extra outstanding balance in the following month statement. if we apply later, we just have 20 days to settle it before we will be charging interest. based on your answer the maximum BT is based on our statement balance and off course depend on the bank decision as well

I don't think he is looking for debit card as he clearly mentioned that he need to use the card to pay some fees upfront before getting reimbursement. I would recommend either Direct Access or CIMB. Just need ur degree cert, pay slip if any plus other docs. but you need to ensure that your company can reimburse within 20 days of the statement date otherwise interest will start to occur. Added on February 1, 2010, 1:31 amQUOTE(winner @ Jan 31 2010, 08:54 PM) They may waive the service tax. However in terms of customer service and efficiency, you should know better and it is one of the banks I avoid! It is always good to notify the bank 2 to 3 months ahead of the card anniversary date. I definitely don't like to see AF shown on the bill, even though it could be reimbursed later. Besides, you can also plan your next course of action if the bank refuses to waive AF. called SCB and they said i need to wait until the annual fees is charged before they can waive it. anyone has experience this with SCB or other banks? how fast they will process this as I'm afraid with interest etc.. Bank Rakyat is a new credit card provider (just starting early last year or end 2008) and has small customer database. I believe they try to retain and attract more customer with this offer (plus free for life as well). because of the small number of customers you can easily reach their customer service without any hassle. the highest level of card they offered is gold, no platinum This post has been edited by cenkudu: Feb 1 2010, 01:31 AM

question about upgrading gold to platinum card. the situation: we have a platinum card from other bank but our salary does not qualify for platinum at the bank that we plan to upgrade. I heard we can't using other bank card to upgrade unless we cancel current gold card and re-apply for new card using other platinum card from other bank. is it true?
so pay slip is the only solution, just to confirm.
happy new year to Chinese friends

QUOTE(hye @ Feb 18 2010, 11:12 PM) Bro ... your info very messy, luckily I'm in a good mood to analyse it. - 5th Dec cycle / 25th Dec payment due. - You swipe RM2K on the 10th Dec and for no interest you should have paid in full on the 25th Dec - You paid on the 7th Jan, means you incur 13-15 days of interest. Based on approx 1.5%, you attracted about RM15 in interest - Don't forget, since you paid on the 7th Jan, there's a late penalty. RM22 sounds kindof right. Plus your RM13 will continue to attract interest on a daily basis till you settle it. Bro Hye, Correct me if I'm wrong, I think in this case he should pay in full before 25th January to avoid interest. 20 days interest free is from the statement date to the due date. If the transaction occur in 10 Dec, it will only appear in the next billing statement on 5th January. However if he choose not to pay in full by 25th January the interest will be calculated from the day the transaction occur which is from 10 Dec onwards.

Email SCB to ask for annual waiver, and got replied that need to wait for the annual fee to be appeared in statement before I can asked for waiver. suddenly in last month statement it shows in one of transactions: annual fee waiver amounting 0.00 . But my anniversary date is in April. does it means I get waiver?

QUOTE(hye @ Mar 10 2010, 05:30 PM) Hahaha! Yeah right ... definitely not! Probably this is a case of salesman/agent desperate for sales. Easy to test ... ask him for B&W proof of the such promo. SCB normally will produce this (stating what promo you signed up for) and it is part of the docs that you need to sign @ point of application. actually Bank Rakyat will pay RM50 GST to goverment on behalf of the card holder. I've confirm this with Bank Rakyat and they have also send a txt message to all existing cardholder. By the way I've asked Maybank to upgrade my card to platinum. looks like it has been approved but in M2U it not replacing the previous gold card instead they have put another platinum card. can we hold two same type of card at different level (platinum and gold)?

QUOTE(hye @ Mar 10 2010, 07:40 PM) Interesting Bank Rakyat is doing this coz it could means they are very hard pressed for customers. Anyway ... if it can appear in your M2U means no problems holding 2 cards @ different level provided they do not share the same account ID. It depends on the bank whether they allow this or not and this rule does not apply symmetrically across all banks. thanks but the problem is I requesting for upgrade not to add cards. maybe I need to speak to CS Bank Rakyat is new in market (2008), so they need to do something to retain their customer This post has been edited by cenkudu: Mar 10 2010, 08:31 PM

Maybank cheque deposit machine (scan one) is not good, not allow to pay for multiple cards using 1 cheque. I've deposited an extra payment to one card which meant for 2 cards. Can ask them to tranfer certain amount later?

I read somewhere in the thread that bank allow 3 days as a buffer from the due date before imposing late charge. Just wondering how about interest charge? if customer pay in full but the payment is delay 1 day from the due date, will the customer get charge on interest from all transactions up to the payment date?
