QUOTE(rockefeller @ Jan 14 2010, 02:29 PM) Put it this way, I had not applied for a card in ages. Thus I cannot know if they would offer me such a limit should I apply for their card. But from my understanding of how banks work, if you have say a RM1M deposit with them, chances are good that you will be granted a minimum of RM300K CL. The highest CL I ever came across was RM1M for a big time tycoon back once upon a time |

I had never applied for a card based on income. All my cards were preapproved by the banks and its been very hard to reject due to relationship issues. Thus I am taking this govt initiative to cut myself some slack. Plus I am getting old and travelling so much lesser, thus cards are no longer that essential to me. As to the bank concern, its none other than the biggest bank in M'sia 1M for the tycoon? Wow. what bank is that? |

So the credit limit can really be as high as RM1 Million QUOTE(rockefeller @ Jan 14 2010, 03:55 PM) 1M for the tycoon? Wow. what bank is that? I believe those foreign banks have many such customers with such high credit line for their credit cards too especially Citibank, HSBC and Standard Chartered. |

Well for Citibank it can be quite fast, just give them a call tonight or tomorrow morning and it'll be sorted out. And once they have already deducted your points (which will happen before you get the item), it's about safe to close the card.180 points = RM1 |

My question is what is the benefit of having zing card compared to tng? There are a fee to pay (RM2) and limited reload option. For me, I really dun see any benefit to apply for.
Can advise your experience? |

QUOTE(epalbee3 @ Jan 14 2010, 09:49 PM) My question is what is the benefit of having zing card compared to tng? There are a fee to pay (RM2) and limited reload option. For me, I really dun see any benefit to apply for. You save the effort of not having to make that trip for the TnG reload, that's all. Even in Singapore auto reload of the TnG equivalent is not free. For me I'm against the idea of not having access to the last RM50 of your value as the card reloads itself by then and the RM2 fee.Can advise your experience? The fact that Rangkaian Segar keeps the money until we use the card and they make money everytime we use the card makes me upset. In Singapore, the MRT fare is cheaper if you use the card vs single fare tickets. In Hong Kong (Card is called Octopus), you don't pay extra when using the card unlike here 10% extra when used for parking. Over here ... the only benefit is convenience and being able to zoom (sometimes makes no difference) through the TnG or SmartTag lanes. OK now ... already OT already, back to credit card. If you ask me ... don't take the card at all and be a smart consumer. That way banks and TnG will be more careful if their products are not well accepted (or worst boycotted) by consumers. Problem is that Malaysian consumers are weak but thank god I think a lot of people cancel their credit cards till banks like CIMB have no choice but to aggresively retain their consumers through 'carrots' This post has been edited by hye: Jan 14 2010, 10:11 PM |
