Hi all, I have a quick question. I have a monthly income of about RM1800 to RM2000, but as a freelance editor for different companies, I was wondering what I'd have to show the banks (perhaps my bank statements?) to be eligible for credit cards. Thanks.

Proof income such as payslips, EPF statement, EA statement or J form.

When you made the payment? It could take time to clear. It may not as real time as you make payment using M2U.

No need to call for activation for MBB CC.

Preferably .. as its much safer to do it that way instead of calling through the Electronic Answering Server to do the activation. Just to avoid any miscommunication and problem from happening ..
*
But they have been pre-activated.

Really ? Maybe its only from MBB. My HLB seems to be the other way round .. need to activate. They recommend us to call in to the Automated Activation by keying in the CC numbers and some other details. To my surprise is - once I have done with that procedure. My Card got blocked .. and they said suspect of fraud and pending my activation. It took me almost half day with numerous of calls to Customer Service, CC Agent and Credit Control department to solve the case. mellow.gif

Your mailer should have mentioned if it requires activation. So far, I'm only aware that DA needs to do so.

Depends on how you got the cards. If you got it from your preferred Maybank branch, then no. You do not have to call in to activate the card. But if it was mailed to your house, then you will need to call in to activate.
It is not 5%, it is only 1.25% and they call it admin fee. It is the same with PBB debit card.
*
Really got such difference between self-pick at the branch and mail to your doorstep for MBB CC?

The documents that comes with the Credit Card letter .. does mentioned that it requires activation and which number to call in. But it seems like there is some problem with their office miscommunication.
*
Their office miscommunication? I can't get you. The number that you tried to call is busy or nobody picks up?

That's a good idea which is similar to what M2U practice now whereby a SMS notification will be sent to you when you may a 3rd party fund transfer from one account to another account.

wanna ask about amex gold credit card (maybank) ..ist only can be swipe in merchant that having amex logo ?

can it use for 0% installment plan ?

i am very confuse about it..hope some one can enlighten me ..thanks
*
That's for sure. But some merchant may not display AMEX logo at their entrance. To be sure, just ask the cashier/waiter.

It has 0% installment plan but not famous.

For TP transfer, I have called them (Maybank CS) few times to check for status update which is quite irritating actually.

I first made my request when I cancelled the card at a branch. The officer said that I can try emailing them also for TPs transfer, just to make sure the request went through. Coz he had put my request on the cancellation form also. So I emailed them, then they asked for my IC and the last 4 digits of my CCs. After a couple of days, the TPs from my AMEX are already under my Visa.
*
The branch officer did put my TP transfer request on the cancellation form but didn't ask me to call/email CS.
