guys,
today went to showroom to confirm again d color,...
comparing titanium silver vs bright silver ..
Bright silver d better ...looks more bigger...

im still waiting to c metal bronze ( real one )

While for white i think i give on it liao due to it might turn yellowish in long run and no metallic layer.

My SA told me i will get my car in d next batch ...

QUOTE(fortesx16 @ Dec 28 2009, 02:19 PM)
Guys,

Yesterday, when driving my Forte, i started to notice that my 'No Fastern SeatBelt' LED in the dashboard is not ON when i didn't do so. 1st, I thought the LED is burned, so i tried out by 'Pressing the Start Engine button' without pressing the break (While the engine is OFF). That way, i saw the LED is ON for 1 sec, then OFF again. It proves the LED light is not burn. Even the driving is moving, it still no warning.

Is there any configuration need to set ? Difficult to accept that it is technical fault after driving the car only to 400km  milliage in total.

Thank you.

I just checked the manual. Below is the extract :

If the driver's seat belt is unfastened after the ignition is ON, the seat belt warning light blinks again for 6 seconds. If the driver's seat belt is not fastened when the ignition switch is turned ON or if it is unfastened after the ignition switch is ON, the seat belt warning chime will sound for approximately 6 seconds. At this time, if the seat belt is fastened, the chime will stop at once.

From this statment, it is something wrong with the technician, the manual or my car ?

1, 2 & 4 doesn't happen (touch wood), 3, depends on personal preference. i thought we have discussed 3 for several times icon_rolleyes.gif

the car is still new, i think we take singapore's fortes as a benchmark would be better since we share the same 1.6 engine with them. and the most annoying problem there is the self destruct windscreen...

i think all new car buyers should have perspective........all cars potentially can have defects, even bmw and mercs........it's a matter of how many, and whether there is any design defects which can be major, like the cracking windscreen........

and unlucky buyers can get what is called lemons........a car somehow plagued with unusual number of defects and problems........

some manufacturers have a reputation of having low defects rate.....toyota leads in this area, and part of the reason why the toyota brand sells so well in msia.......they sell usually simple bland (or comfortable to most people) cars that is reliable and lasting........

one fear i have with the forte is, how long will all the fancy electronics actually last?...........

Talking about deffect ... I experience the following major problem yesterday after work and this morning rclxub.gif

When i went in the car, closed the door and stepped on the break and pressed the start button, all the electronics were cut off. No horn, headlights, meters/LCD ... all not working, like the battery is out and the engine won't start shocking.gif

I try to slot the remote in the slot below the start button, and it didn't work. I opened the door and closed it (seems like the eletronics came back whenever i opened and closed the door) and tried to start a few times (its like when the car doesn't have enough battery, it starts half way and die off) and finally got it started after 4 - 5 times. When my car finally started, the time and radio channels that i have set are all gone mad.gif ... it is impossible that the battery is out cos my car is so new and i set auto headlight (the light will auto turn off when i off the engine) ... anyone experience the same problem or have any idea what went wrong?

4te,

So sad to see this happened.. you must be very disappointed when these happen especially if someone actually there and say "See, i told you don't buy Korean car". I suggest you to visit the SC immediately and request them to run diagnostic for you ( if they are such thing ). Hopefully the clever designer has a built in fault / error logging mechanism to track what had happened which are stored different from the main battery powered ( Normally that would be on button cell powered NVRam ).

Or at least have them check for the battery's condition.

guess you are very down seeing what happening and for the next few days or weeks, you are keeping your finger cross that you car will starts every time you starting it.. sien. a new phobia with the new car after this.

And don't forget to updates this to the myForte problem discussion and also post this to KM FB.. ( if you don't mind telling people what you experienced.. as it is kind of shame to experience that )

2 times straight? that's a bad one!
sounds like the smart key didn't communicate / line up well with the electronics in the car.

btw i don't use the auto headlight function. tried it once, but it came on quite early. it was drizzling tat time but all other cars around me didn't switch on their head lights so eventually i turned off the lights manually smile.gif

Actually I drove some DRL enabled cars back to the States, when set to Auto.. most of the time the Headlight will be switched on even on bright sunny day. But that is DRL and I am not sure if the auto headlight function should acts like a DRL or not.
