QUOTE(htkaki @ Nov 16 2010, 11:39 AM) Welcome to the club no worries..I was too eager to hear it so I carried the huge lug all by myself back to my living room. Looking forward to have u or your bro help set it up properly when u come to kl. The bass effects sound better in your shop ... hopefully can get close to that.Sorry for not able to attend to you on that day. I do hope that you enjoyed the audition of both systems Noticed some forumers here considering dual sub setup... will there be a big difference? So that's where the 7.2 av amps come in? QUOTE(htkaki @ Nov 16 2010, 10:07 PM) There is another SVS owner in Putra Heights but his is PB12-Plus DSP (for movie) and SB12-NSD (for music). IIRC, there are 4 SVS subs in Putra Heights and more than 5 in Puchong. Thanks 4 d help and tips. Went to jln pasar 2 get a 5m rca cable. Found some decent quality spreaker wire there also rated at 12ga. Will see how it works once I'm back from my holidays!Danny, will definitely calibrate for you tomorrow |

Is it placed between the corners or flat against the wall? Wondering how much difference it will make. I've already noticed better sound after setting up a dedicated av room. Even the whafedale 250 suddenly sounded it has power! And one of the corners near my door is rattling when there is more powerful bass. Will try room treatment next before I shift in the svs. Floors are normal tiles so hopefully putting in carpeting will make a difference.

QUOTE(klimal @ Jan 1 2011, 05:20 PM) Completed another 3 bass traps yesterday for another forum member from the balance of the acoustic ceiling panels. Pls sell it ... Forum member eagerly awaiting hahaNow I am in two minds as to whether I should keep it or sell it as agreed. I placed them at the other 3 corners of my hall and the difference is Previously, listening to David Foster and friends, I needed to turn down the sub by up to -2dB to -4dB but now it is just right at neutral (75dB). Have new found love for my PC12. It is much tighter with much better definition The sound stage is deeper and wider and the mid range so much crisper now. Guess I'll have to make another 3 as I have already agreed to sell the bass traps. |

hmm still wondering what a piece of foam ;ike subdude will do to help.. similar to bass trap?
btw just managed to test sb12 for one day..wish I had more time. Damn work.. no time to really enjoy.. put it outside my living room and its powerful enough to power the whole living room. Made my glass sliding door rattle... now have to figure.. how to eliminate sliding door rattle? Got a feeling the subs will perform better outside than my small room. Will try next to pair with ported subs from rythmik and svs. This post has been edited by DannyOP: Mar 21 2011, 01:08 AM |

QUOTE(mpyw @ Apr 12 2011, 05:39 PM) I have that chest thumping and leg trembling feel of WOW with a single PC12+ at my old place but can't replicate that in my new room I had the same problem also.. the LFE can easily fill my open living area with a single sub.. but when I put 2 subs in my small room.. the bass seem to have dissapeared. Only recently when I tried different position of the subs then I manage to get better LFE..so I guess one needs to find the ideal position and angle. |

Finally get to test the SB12 dsp model thanks to bro htkaki. I took off the sunfire and replaced it with the SB12 as my quad sub setup. First impression is that the sound is cleaner and bass goes lower. Will test more tomorrow with REW to find out whether my judgement is correct.
I think I'll need to further fine tune it as I suspect there is some cancellation with the Rythmik F15. When I stacked both, the spl meter reading actually dropped. This post has been edited by DannyOP: May 8 2011, 03:04 AM |

From previous graphs 90hz turns out to be better results.

QUOTE(htkaki @ May 11 2011, 09:25 PM) Tried your suggestion.. The graph changes dramatically.. but need a lot of fine tuning as what is on the graph and the actual sound is very different. Will post my updated rew soon. Today need to go penang for meeting. Very boring place for hifi.. If wanna do demo svs showroom in penang let me know lol.. Got lots of office space available in my co.Added on May 14, 2011, 9:09 pmUpdated REW graph .. straighter up to 40hz :- ![]() Uploaded with ImageShack.us This post has been edited by DannyOP: May 14 2011, 09:09 PM |

In terms of lfe this is the best I managed to get with the most rumble :-
![]() Uploaded with ImageShack.us This is with subs at all 4 corners while the post before was stacked. I noticed that the dip at 53-54hz is caused by the rythmik F15 because I tested 3 subs without F15 the dip wasn't there :- ![]() Uploaded with ImageShack.us This is running with only 2 svs subs :- ![]() Uploaded with ImageShack.us As u can see with 4 subs the lfe is strong even at 10hz while 2 and 3 subs it cuts off earlier at 16-18hz This post has been edited by DannyOP: May 15 2011, 03:26 AM |

Yes pls come visit. I need u to help me decide.. 2 less powerful sub or 1 powerful sub at the back. I tried pairing a lower powered sub ie sunfire with sb12 but no kick.. I suspect a more powerful sealed sub will have better mid bass.
