I guess klimal is talking abt the subtleness in bass while watching concert while he wants the slam in movie.

In music or concert, the bass note should never overpowering; i.e. not being run hot. It sld be tuned to 75dB as with the rest. However, most of us like the bass to be hot for movie.

klimal is experiencing certain localization in the sub for concert since the bass is overpowering. He might to explore other placement or the phase setting to get it blends seamlessly.

My 13-Ultra is being set at 75dB. Never run it hot. If the Dyn EQ is switch, it is like 'unleash the beast' thumbup.gif

Pissmad must be enjoying his new toy now. Impressive HT room, I must say.

Yday, sent the PB12-Plus over to my friend's home for him to test out during CNY tongue.gif . The SPL1200-R is being temporary 'released' from its duty.

Popped in Terminator Salvation and Kungfu Panda. The PB12-Plus pounded his room like never before even before Audyseey calibration rolleyes.gif . We just did the SPL meter check at 75dB for the sub.

He admitted that the PB12-Plus wins as it is able to dig real deep with enough muscle. The wushu finger hold in Kungfu Panda has his room being pressurized and the sofa even the front single seater were being shakened sweat.gif . My bro sat in front and told me that he can felt it there too. IIRC, the vol is at -12dB. As for Terminator Salvation, it's at abt -16dB. Enough to pound the whole room when we watched the 7 Eleven scene as well as the escape.

He will do the audyssey and try it out again. Shall go there and test out again.

Oh yes, I went to maja's home too to audition his setup. The PC12-Plus is dominating his whole PSB Alpha setup. Everytime the LFE kicks in, it overwhelm the front. I guess it is time for him to upgrade his PSB liao. Btw, his sofa being rumbling. Kinda cheaper ver of 'butt kicker' biggrin.gif .

Still, I am waiting someone to bring Velo DD-18 or F113 to test it out with PB13-Ultra.

I am still waiting for benben79 to buy F113 to allow me to bring the PC13-Ultra for a showdown thumbup.gif . The previous F113 'owner' did not reply my request for it. Although it's a long wait, I am sure benben79 would get it soon wink.gif Then, we shall a small gathering for the showdown at his place to test out some BDs with both subs.

ronaldjoe, the Paradigm Sub25 is indeed the best sealed sub under RM25K in the mart for now. The SB16-Ultra should be about the same size as Sub25. The SB12-NSD is a compact 14" x 14" x 14". Sld be here by May 2010.

Just a small timer making a living.

The price for SB12-NSD and SB13-Plus will be announced soon. I mean special pre-order price but with limited units. It should be here by June.

It will be PB12-NSD (which is claimed to be outperformed the obsolete SB12-Plus) and SB13-Plus. The SB13-Plus would be lower than the price of PB12-Plus while the SB12-NSD would be about the price of PB12-NSD. I shall let you guys know once there is confirmation on this.

I think that the SB16-Ultra will only be out by end 2010. But, it would breach the 5 figs mark.

SB10-NSD might only make it into the market by mid 2010. It is still under development in US.

The SB12-NSD is est to be launched in May/June 2010.

Saw the pb and pc 13 ultras at a in shop desa park city today (pioneer shop upstairs). They were testing both of them with the jbl everest speakers and a pioneer susano amp. Some big mama speakers n woofers.

They told me fresh from your shop.

Yes, it was being shipped this morning from my shop smile.gif to Flagship AV in Waterfront@Desa Parkcity . In total, 4 units. It were meant for a project in Solaris, KL. Once it is opened, I think it should be the only upmarket bar in S.E. Asia that houses half a million RM audio system. The JBL Everest is already a quarter mil to start with.

The boss invited me to have a closed audition of the JBL and SVS before moving it to the venue. I shall be going there early next week smile.gif

Let me check with him since he does not wish to have too many ppl. Will call you abt the arrangement.

Btw, I did some tweaking and positioning in my audio room. It sounds better than last week. However, there is still room for improvement.

Nice meeting you too.

Can I charge RM8 tongue.gif ? It is not at its best yet. Once the MTS-01 is back and after I managed to solve the room acoustic issue, it would be a whole better than now smile.gif

izmel_s came too with his Metallica BD. He is very impressed. He won't be watching it at his home tonight too sweat.gif

I guess some songs do need sub to make it more interesting. I feel annoyed when i listen to Linkin Park and Black Eye Pea with no slam. Tis apply to my speaker. When i used my friends Diamond 8.4, i could enjoy the songs without sub unlike my speaker. Perhaps the reason is cos the 84. can go down to 30hz? My speaker only reaches 40hz.

But when come to Tsai Chin, Teresa Teng, Enya, Katie Melua, Norah Jones, im happy, but i also wonder what a sub can do for those song. Perhaps nothing at all as i believe these songs dont have sub bass. Can any forumer advise? Thats why im looking into SVS now.  drool.gif
*
you should PM jwyj since he is in Miri and he owns a PC12-NSD.

Very few musical instruments can produce well below 40Hz. Those digital music can go down well below that since it is remastered by the sound engineer. A sub comes to play when your main speakers have limitation in producing bass below certain LFE freq. It helps to 'promote' low extension.

Ever wonder why many audiophiles say that Aaron Neville XRCD is not that good and boomy? When you have a good system (floorstander) that can produce full range freq (20Hz to 20kHz), you will find that its bass is quite boomy by 'nature'. But, it ain't so and probably sounds good for those who is using standmount speakers that probably can go down to 45Hz only.

If all goes well, a SB13-Plus will be heading its way to my showroom by May 2010. This probably will be followed by SVS 7channels ICE power amp.
