if dvb-s2 tuner is included inside TV to receive free-to-air sat TV, then it can truly called HDTV, but our government won't allow that, so the manufacturer take out HD tuner in compliance with local law and we can only receive standard definition TV only.

so current plasma/LCD TV can only classified as full HD(1080i/1080p) or HD(720p) panel, not HDTV

some panasonic plasma model abroad equipped with digital tuner(DVB-T) capable of HDTV reception
