As I know, it is more of a personal preference and the size of your wallet as most Plasma are > 40".
Me? I prefer Plasma. |

Plasma. More value for money than LCD or LED if compared their performance.

QUOTE(pirateguy @ Dec 21 2009, 10:34 AM) Plasma consume more electricity, no? And i think seeing vertical lines for plasma is more obvious, yes? I think Plasma TVs consume less electricity even though the power rating is higher i.e 42 inch plasma @300w and LCD @150w. The reason is Plasma TVs power consumption is variable depending on what to display (@300w is when showing all whites) whereas LCD power consumption is constant at the rated power i.e. 150w all the way. But I think power consumption is negligible unless you watch 24/7. And resolution wise, if you watch from 8 feet up for 42incher, the lines are invisible... in fact, the great contrast easily make up for it if you still see the pixels. On the original question, I prefer plasma TV... but for 32 inch and below, LCD can still cope pretty well. If you have RM1500 to spend, buy a Sharp 32incher and that is enough. |

Plasma has no ghosting, so response time is very good compared to LCD.
But watching it I still can see the vertical lines which annoys me a lot. Also I think its a lot heavier than LCD tvs. Also the issue with burn-in. |

QUOTE(low98944 @ Dec 21 2009, 11:00 AM) That really depends on where I see it. I've been thinking about plasma for my room, and I would probably sit about 5-6 feet away. I think always stand at that distance if I go see a demo plasma tv. I still notice a bit of the vertical lines. |
