Transformers: War for Cybertron is a third-person shooter video game developed by High Moon Studios and published by Activision. It was released on June 22, 2010 for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC. Two portable versions were released for the Nintendo DS. A game for the Wii called Transformers: Cybertron Adventures was developed by Next Level Games and utilizes the same characters and setting as War for Cybertron. Hasbro also has a toy line releasing in 2010 based on War for Cybertron. The multiplayer demo was released on June 10, 2010 onto the Xbox Live Marketplace and is an Xbox 360 exclusive and allows players to experience either "Soldier" or "Scout" class warriors.

Characters

Optimus Prime leads the Autobots

Optimus/Optimus Prime - He is a young military commander who wields an ion blaster and his double bladed energon axe. He becomes the leader of the Autobots after Zeta Prime falls in battle. He comes to realize that he is destined to become the next Autobot leader, and decides to encourage his leadership mantle. He transforms into a Cybertronian truck.

Arcee - A female Autobot that transforms into a Cybertronian car.

Air Raid - Described as cocky and arrogant, Air Raid is a well rounded soldier who is as fast as his is strong. He transforms into a Cybertronian jet.

Bumblebee - Being one of the smallest of the Autobots, Bumblebee uses his size for espionage and reconnaissance. He transforms into a Cybertronian racer.

Cliffjumper - A red redeco of Bumblebee, unique to the Nintendo DS version of the game.

Grimlock - A fierce warrior who is set to appear in the DS version of the game. He transforms into a Cybertronian tank.

Ironhide - Ironhide is the oldest Autobot on the team, and the most battle hardened. Optimus views him as his mentor and a guide. He transforms into a Cybertronian truck.

Jazz - Jazz is an unlockable multiplayer exclusive for pre-ordering only a PS3 or Xbox 360 version at Best Buy and EB games in Australia and amazon.co.uk. He transforms into a Cybertronian car.

Jetfire - Jetfire is dedicated to the pursuit of science and believes technology will ultimately give the Autobots victory over the Decepticons. Jetfire became an Autobot after disagreeing with the methods used by the Decepticons. He transforms into a Cybertronian jet.

Omega Supreme - A giant Autobot who appears as a boss in the Decepticon campaign.

Ratchet - The Autobots' medical officer. Ratchet has a dry wit, often giving his wounded comrades a hard time for taking hits he somehow avoids. He transforms into a Cybertronian truck.

Sideswipe - Sideswipe is built for speed, and enjoys battle solely for the sport and competitiveness of it. He transforms into a Cybertronian car.

Silverbolt - Silverbolt is an anti-social transformer, and most Autobots prefer not to be around him. He transforms into a Cybertronian jet.

Warpath - Warpath is a weapon specialist who often creates and repairs weapons. He transforms into a Cybertronian tank.

Zeta Prime - Leader of the Autobot Army prior to the rise of Optimus Prime. He is a non-player character who is killed early in the story.


Decepticons

Megatron - Megatron is the powerful and ruthless leader of the Decepticons. In battle he carries a large purple mace and is equipped with a very large fusion cannon mounted to his forearm. He transforms into a Cybertronian tank.

Barricade - Barricade has the ability to reach speeds faster than some transformer jets. He often uses this to his advantage by luring Autobots into transforming and chasing him, then taking fatal routes that only he can navigate. He transforms into a Cybertronian car.

Brawl - Brawl loves nothing more than explosions and chaotic, unending combat. He does not care whether he lives or dies if an Autobot goes down with him. He transforms into a Cybertronian tank.

Breakdown - Breakdown is extremely paranoid that everyone and everything is out to get him. He prefers to do his duties in anonymity. He transforms into a Cybertronian car.

Demolishor - Demolishor is an unlockable multiplayer exclusive for pre-ordering the game from Amazon.com and play.com in the UK. He transforms into a Cybertronian tank.

Dirge - A Decepticon who transforms into a cybertronian Jet. He is unique to the DS version of the game.

Ramjet - Unlockable character on the NDS version of the game.

Shockwave - Can be unlocked in multiplayer mode only on the PS3 or Xbox 360 with a unique code from GameStop and Blockbusters in the UK. He's best known as the second in command of the Decepticons. He transforms into a Cybertronian jet.

Skywarp - Skywarp possesses cloaking technology which he uses to achieve his goal with quiet, ruthless efficiency. He transforms into a Cybertronian jet.

Slipstream - A female Decepticon that transforms into a Cybertronian jet.

Soundwave - Soundwave is part of Megatron's upper command structure, operating as the Decepticons' communications officer. He transforms into a Cybertronian truck.

Starscream - Starscream makes no secret of his ambition to overthrow Megatron as the Decepticon leader. He is more intelligent than the average Decepticon, and believes that both Optimus and Megatron have lost sight of what is best for the Cybertron. He transforms into a Cybertronian jet.

Thundercracker - Serving alongside Starscream and Skywarp, Thundercracker is a part of the Decepticons' flying squad known as the "Seekers". Thundercracker despises those that cannot take flight and views himself as being superior to those that cannot. He sometimes questions the Decepticon cause, but a fear of Megaton's wrath quiets his discontent. He transforms into a Cybertronian jet.

Trypticon - A giant Transformer whose two forms include a dinosaur and a orbital space station. Trypticon appears as a boss during the Autobot campaign.

if they release on march, they will go bankrupt because nobody will even pay attention to a game like this compared to all those hot games coming out at the same time.

The 2 TF games on PS3 so far have been nothing short of disappointing, so I hope this one does well

wow, this is really going to be an amazing transformer game at last,

high moon did a good job on Bourne conspiracy, making you feel like bourne with the hand to hand combat, hopefully the same can be done to this.

Went through whole archive on Transformers just now. Since they pit Omega Supreme and Trypticon, I'm guessing we will see Unicron emerging and possibly Primus un-transformed from Cybertron.

Oh well...I wonder how the story goes.

why bumblebee change form into car?

i mean, in cybertron they no need to tranform cause they dont need to camoflouge themselves and they have vehicles.

Hmm, I think Transformers live-action movies had you confused. The robots are not naked robots that can change according to what they see. They were already vehicles, etc. when they are in Cybertron.
