true. silver was trading around $19-20 per ounce 2 mth ago. until recently it climbed up to $24. not bad, around 20% increase but in malaysia the spread is too big and not much demand of it. also, gold is still a preferred precious metal for investment in msia.

if u want to buy gold or silver, buy in amount of money that you can sleep peacefully rather than worrying it goes up and down the next day or in other word, amount u can afford. do not just simply jump into the train because everyone is jumping on it

i bought my first silver, from goldchan - 2 x maple and 1 x eagle. july 2010. rm88 each. silvertowne was selling rm70 each. it was below usd20/oz that time. bought it just for fun.
regret for not taking an offer of 1 tubes of eagle at rm95 each from a guy in mudah. that was the price when it was usd22/oz.

goldchan's blog posting was very informative. congrats! he was also very helpful when posting abt one guy wanted to exchange 40 silver coins (eagles,maples) with 1 oz of gold

until kelantan able to fix goods priced to dirham (rather than converting the value of dirham) , subsituting dinar n dirham over fiat money would not be as successful as expected. people are not treating dinars as commodity nowadays

the only thing i know that is fixed is a goat is 1 dinar (917 4.25gm gold) 1400yrs ago until today, and some goat farm accept dinar.

dinar is automatically gold, and dirham are silvers.

yes you can do leverage in physical in msia but only for gold.
i.e - capital of rm10k to get 9 pcs of gold maple from UOB. did it and quite successful during recent rally.
returned around 30% of capital for 27.07 until 11.08.2011.

of course leverage is a double edged sword. it goes another way and your capital gone.
