I went to their office and looked at their bars.

The silver bar is has a serial number and comes with a paper certificate. However, checked with the manager and was told i could not cross check the serial number on PAMP website.

Personally, i do not know this dealer at all and how reputable they are.

I wonder how do one determine if the bar is really genuine for a newbie like me.

I dont think they carry any lady fortuna silver at the moment. IF they do, let me know too.

Any idea what is the PREMIUM (price above spot) they are asking for 1oz pamp?

Sometimes, we also need to consider the buying price. If the buying price (from the current market spot price) is too high, even with the low buy / sell spread is low, one will still loose out. This is what i call "loosing out during the purchase"

I really admire your willingness to save (and invest) at such a tender age. And to be able to save that sum at your age is truly remarkable. I wish my son will be able to do that at your age. I know a lot of older people cannot even afford to save that sum of money.

I totally agree with GoldChan. Firstly, pick up some good books. Visit MPH and browse thru books on personal money and investing.

Read 10 books or more, you will develop some idea as to what you may want to do. Make it you life's mission to continue learning.

Then seek out someone whom you think is very successful (and have the bank account to proof) in that area and ask him to be your sifu.

Then develop an action plan, follow the plan, review the plan. See what is working and what is not and then fine tune your plan.

In 10 years' time if you still remember what i said and had followed them, write to me and tell me if my advice helped.

I gave 1cheapsilver.com a call and bought some silver from them. Very "easy going" seller and nice dealing with them.

I was looking to get hold of some American Silver eagles coins for collection purposes. The eagle coins are really beautiful. But for investment purposes, i bought the 10 oz sunshine bar. Good size and low spread (premium).

1) what is the the buy back price / spread? i.e. how much would you lose if you buy now and sell it back to them now?

2) how do they guarantee it? Is there a contract to the effect?

Anyone bought any 1kg silver bar from 1stopgold lately? Do they have stock in hand at the moment or are they currently collecting monies with a deal of a later delivery date. If so, when is the next shipment due?

I have bought some silver bars from 1stopgold. Are you pretty sure the GUARANTEE to buy back at 5% below spot? There is nothing in the agreement you signed that say that. Or could i be mistaken?

You can certainly consider UOB. They have got limited stock in PJ State branch. Likely to get stocks @ their head quarters in Jln Raja Laut.

The most reasonable spread (buy / sell difference) is Maple leaf and Aussie nugget 1oz coin. Their spread used to be RM86 but increased to RM186 now (if memory serves me right).

Mind you, their 1oz coins, though the cheapest sold at the bank, is still higher (comparatively) than what you can find at 1stopgold and mysmartgold.

1) You got to ask them. When i asked them, they said they get it from some website! Rugi when buy from them, but when you sell to them, then you untung a bit, as you rightly pointed out the price is higher than Kitco (well, so is Perth Mint Bullion!)

2) Call them and they will lock in the price for you. Then meet them up and transact. A bit chinaman style of dealing if you ask me.

3) If you compare their price, certain bars are cheaper than 1stopgold whilst others a bit more expensive. Cannot recall if it is the lighter weight bars are cheaper or vice versa.

4) You have got to go to their shop @ Old Klang Road to deal.
