QUOTE(Nidz @ Sep 7 2011, 10:50 PM) i mean, lucky as u guys are closer to SG, where silver can be quite cheap. then summore got 50 pcs lunar dragon for sale... hahaha I got 100 pcs, but guess that the price will be not that high when perth mint resume the production of 2oz. so thinking to let go half now and buy back later. If the offer price not so attractive , i will keep it like ASE to hold for future.anyway, i put link to ur post in the FB group. who knows there might be sumbody interested.... QUOTE(arrsoo @ Sep 7 2011, 11:17 PM) Bro SGKSG, let me think about the price tmr. with spot price so choppy now, it is pretty hard to give you an offer, perhaps, just a suggestion, maybe you can indicate how much % above spot you are willing to sell and that if spot price dropped below certain level, you will withdraw selling since it would be unprofitable, then it would be easier for buyer to decide. Of course those who can buy bulk will get a slightly better discount lor. But just dont limit yourself to COD only at JB la. Poslaju also not really that expensive ma At current high demand, i dont think the spot rate affect the dragon coins so much. The 1oz one is selling at more than RM 300 per piece at ebay and the price of 2oz is also increasing accordingly. The mint has stopped the pre-order and don't know when it will resume the pre-order. even it resumes, they will focus on 1/2 oz. Perhaps, the mint may resume the pre-order soon but the spot rate will likely to increase in sept onwards, who knows ? As i mentioned in previous post, i no hurry to sell. if nobody offers, i can keep it for long term. i prefer to use the private courier, like citylink. but heard many loss cases recently. i don't want to take any risk, if buyer requests and willing to take risk , i dont mind to offer postal delivery. |

QUOTE(prophetjul @ Sep 8 2011, 07:24 AM) 1 oz for Rm300 is just plain crazy.......its a new coin. Ya, rm300 is a bit crazy, but it is worth for those want to collect the whole set of series 2. I dont see the reason that will make the price drop unless the spot rate drop the 30usd or 20USD. The potential of going higher is huge.Even though the 1 oz silver has limited 300,000 mintage, at this stage for Rm300 is plain crazy. The 2 oz is unlimited mintage........ Added on September 8, 2011, 8:20 ami managed to place in an order these coins at the Perth mint albeit with much difficulty a) 1 oz 2012 lunar dragon silver proof coin- mintage 5,000 coins. Yr 2000 selling at $350 b) 3 coin set 2012 lunar dragon silver proof coins - mintage 1,000 sets Yr 2000 selling at $3000 Fingers x-ed they will allow me to purchase the two items! ![]() Ya, 2oz is unlimited, but considered high premium demanded by perth mint (USD18 or 9 per oz), even higher than the chinese silver panda. If chinese silver can be sold at rm 190-195 per oz at current spot rate in Malaysia, i think RM400 for 2oz perth mint lunar dragon is a fair price. If someone selling at 355, i will say he is too desperate to sell it. the year 2012 1oz proof coins is selling at more than RM300 by the mint. The year 2000 one will only be higher. Last time, not too long ago, the year 2000 1oz (bullion coin) was sold at USD16X at ebay. hope you are able to get these 2 item. be prepared to pay double or triple of original price. haha. |

QUOTE(prophetjul @ Sep 8 2011, 09:18 AM) i guess its the whole china wanting a piece of the dragon and the mint's is fleecing....... triple ? you are too conservative. congratulations ! the 1oz is selling at 479aud. your one is proof coin, USD1000 also not problem lah, just to wait.problem we unless you are an aussie or appointed dealer, you cant order them Right now, NONE of the dealers are selling the 1 oz bullions. i guess they are trying to hog them till later. As for the proof coins, they were sold out within one and half hours. i had lots of trouble getting onto the website. it was hanging a few times! Eventually i was able to conclude the purchase So i am paying the mint prices the 1 oz proof at AUD102 and 3 coin proof set at AUD363 i hope someone will pay me 3 times these prices! i am just hoping they will not reduce my purchases to ONE..... hope us earn big big. |

QUOTE(prophetjul @ Sep 8 2011, 10:01 AM) They have suspended production, The mint underestimated the sellout time of the dragon. hope they stop the production FOREVER, though it is unlikely, haha. IMO they need the moulds for other coins...........sooooo they may NOT produce anymore......... Like they stopped production of the 5/10oz rabbit to concerntrate on the 1 kg ones. i am still waiting for my batch as well.......... |

QUOTE(spikyz @ Sep 8 2011, 11:22 AM) its more into collection rather an investment. bcoz at the end its still a 1 or 2 oz of silver. released already, but sold out liao. the ebay price now is around AUD 150-190. The price will be lower when more ppl sell their coin. but in the long run, i believe the price will be much higher.but hey, the economy is still great, and no rush to sell d dragon based on silver price right. so yeah, dragon will be d king for 2012. Just managed to get 2oz. hmmm how to get 1oz? some ppl say not yet release. |

QUOTE(chef @ Sep 8 2011, 12:27 PM) Not only that, the current spot is 41.6. so if we "could" order it now from PM, the cost will be (41.6*2+18)*3*1.15( tax) + around average rm 5 shipping cost. the cost to order from PM is around RM355include lilian too type of feng shui people who buy these and stock up for chinese new year, the price will be high till after chinese new year. Aiyoh... So anyone fancy a guess or make an offer here, how much are you willing to pay for the 2oz dragon, 5oz and 10oz? chef So the reasonable price is 355 plus 10% profit margin = RM 390. If i just want to buy one or two pcs, rm400 is the max amount i am willing to pay. for those pre-order earlier before the mint increase the premium and get at the price of rm355, i would say you are very lucky. haha. but i very greedy lah, just now, got ppl offer to buy all my 2oz for 355, i rejected lah. i counter offer RM500 , I am crazy .haha.............. but i think the price will drop after the mint resume production of 2oz. but the premium of USD18 is not likely to be lowered as it is not fair to those who buy it earlier. |

QUOTE(spikyz @ Sep 8 2011, 01:34 PM) if u not in a hurry, why not wait for resume production. for perth mint, they cna get money from selling lunar dragon 2oz. why should they stop. ya lah, no need to rush to buy or sell. I am not coin dealers. Actually, i prefer to keep all my 100 pcs for long term. If i sell at low price, i may not able to buy back at lower price or same price as we don't know when the production will resume and the spot rate at that moment. Q4 is the peak period for silver and gold. If ppl offers me crazy prize, i dont mind to sell. plus its unlimited mintage. so whats d rush. RM500 is very high in my opinion. several websites selling much cheaper than that. even fb group sell cheaper than that. but again, willing seller willing buyer. For those who are not intend to collect a whole lunar series, buy 1/2 oz enough liao lah. I, personally, also think that the premium is too high for both size of dragon coins. |

QUOTE(Nidz @ Sep 8 2011, 10:08 PM) chinese conquering the world... hahaha i don't think the high price can maintain forever. china ke arah kuasa besar dunia.. P/S: sorry OT, too much of /k today The 1oz is sold out in Australia, but we haven't seen the large distributors in US and Europe selling it. Some more, i still see some countries still accepting to pre-order 1oz silver and the estimated shipping date is mid of Nov. Is it a hype? expect to see the price of 1oz drop to USD60-65 per oz when US and Europe start selling the 1oz coin. I don't believe all the coins has been sold out. It had been allocated to the disrtibutor. 1oz Rabbit took 6 months to be sold out. 1oz dragon 1 day only ? Is it possible that the large distributor are holding 1oz stock together and want to make ppl rush to buy other sizes, like 1/2 oz, 2oz, 5 oz and etc? That's why we saw that the perth mint has suspended the pre-order of 1/2 oz, 2oz and 5 oz Above is just my thought, your opinion ? |

QUOTE(Nidz @ Sep 8 2011, 10:31 PM) 1oz dragon has a limit of 300k pieces only. It'll be very limited and rare. once it's sold out, it'll carry a good premium to its owner. Ya, 1oz is limited. However, it is curious that 80-90% of mintage are allocated to overseas, but so far, we do not sell any large distributor selling 1oz silver. Even want to pre-order also not allowed. but, 1/2oz, 2oz, 5oz, 10oz and 1kg coins will be unlimited until end of 2012. so, by may or june 2012, the price will be quite stable and the premium will be just a lil bit higher from the spot price only. however, since the demand is now overwhelming the mint capacity, the pre-order is put on hold for a while. after this, they'll open orders for 1/2oz first, then 2oz and so on... source: http://www.perthmintbullion.com/blog/blog/...gon_Orders.aspx http://viewer.zmags.com/publication/f05192f8#/f05192f8/4 But i saw an online dealer website in Taiwan issued an announcement today saying that the release date and price of 1oz haven't confirmed by European and US distributors. Once it is finalised, they will make announcement. That means, European and US distributors has not really started selling 1oz? You can search ebay and find that there are only 2 places selling 1oz silver, Germany and Australia. Other places still not available ? Anyone can explain? Even US also hasn't released yet. There is only possible reason, European and US distributors are holding stock. Anyone agrees with me ? |

QUOTE(Nidz @ Sep 8 2011, 11:04 PM) Do you think it is possible? Today is the 8th of Sept. They could ship before the release date.Added on September 8, 2011, 11:24 pm QUOTE(chef @ Sep 8 2011, 11:09 PM) I suspect the china dealer are the one holding it, waiting for the chinese new year to release the sales at exorbitant price to their own country people, now the china chinese are filthy rich. I also don't think it is possible. Perth Mint allocated the quota based on the sale statistic of past 4 years series 2 coins. They didn't accept the offer of any parties to buy all mintage. China does issue their own dragon coins, they do no need to buy Perth Mint. For most of the chinese in China, they only buy china issued coins , cos only china issued coin will increase more value over time. For example , 2000 ase can be found at ebay for less than $100 dollar. 2000 silver panda costs you USD2k AND MORE.chef Silver coins issued by countries other than china, after 20 years , it is just slightly over the spot. But silver coins issued by china , after 20 years, it might be double , triple of the spot rate. This is the difference. This post has been edited by SGKSY: Sep 8 2011, 11:24 PM |
