go for pamp - mysmartgold or 1stopgold.
mysmartgold is 10% spread but not sure for 1stopgold.

buy those with assay cert and known brand, i.e pamp

PG silver is 15% spread.

Thanks bro...just spoke to one of them...

Yeah, you can only trust the certificate they give to you and the serial number on the bars. PLUS if you buy from 1stopgold, who is the official distributor for PAMP, and if they are willing to promise you they will buy back, you don't have to worry anymore.

But if you are buying from someone else, I don't know. good luck?

Haven't spoken or got in contact with 1stopgold but mysmartgold doesn't provide as certs for both gold and silver...According to the person, he says no different as long the purity and and weight is stated on the bar itself. Not so sure about that though.

QUOTE(chunyen2020 @ Sep 5 2011, 04:48 PM)
Spend some money to go for assayer approve.
If you do not wish to do so, buy bars that already has assayer approval, such as PAMP and Public Gold.

Joking element below (Do not treat it so so serious)

If you do not want those, you can do the measurement yourself.  tongue.gif
Take a tank of water, put the bar into it, measure the water displaced by the bar and weigh your bar.
Divide the weight over volume, this is the density of the bar.
Then take silver density of silver (10.501 per cm cube) minus the density you calculated then divide by the density of silver and then times 100% again.
TADA!  tongue.gif

Any other recommendation other then 1stopgold and mysmartgold?

What should i look out for when buying as this is my first time? Thanks in advance

guys, is it true that buying those certified silver with certs and packaging isn't really wise as when you sell, you will still sell at normal market rate, similar to those without certs?

whats your take on sunshine minting silver?

Honestly, I think these bars like sunshine or morgan etc is to be kept as long term investment, they will not have limited edition, so they are like goods to be traded when price is high or low.

But I realized what these bars are for now. I used to think that the 1oz bar was created to be traded only, like cash, coins are really the money, but bars when the world goes into fiat money crisis. But I found some people selling "Home smelting furnace" where even you or I can buy it, bring home, put in the bars and mint our own coins or rounds or sovenier. That's why they are call minting bars. But for PAMP bars, they are more like coins.

In summary, I still like bars, as they are my long term dream to owning GOLD BARS like those in the movies, but just silver. So if I were you, I'll buy bars to keep, for long term, while coins is for immediate to short term trading.

How much are you offered the sunshine bars? and how many pcs per order?

Hey all,

I have an equipment which is able to test gold and silver authenticity and purity level. It's able to to test almost all metal types and with a printout details of the specific metal tested, Do you think the general public, both buyer/seller and even resellers will be interested in such service?

The equipment is way to expensive to purchase unless you are in the metal (recycling business)...it does not harm the metal, in fact, you need not remove the transparent plastic sleeve that comes with your silver bullion...

i'm looking into getting it up...i'm also planning to price it affordably...anyone gone to an assayer to test their gold or silver before? What's the charges like, procedures and what do you get? i've checked before but not sure all assayers do the same steps and whether prices are similiar..

I have seen this machine in Malaysia, used by some test labs. Am quite sure SIRIM has one but their charges are very expensive (many people from various industries trying to get SIRIM cert mah). In Godslove previous post, he has this machine and considering starting up a business like this to provide service to fellow gold/silver investors.

Godslove, you see the response by our fellow forumners?

Yeah..just got back to the forum.....will discuss further and see if i can work out something that benefits all parties...

it seems its been 2 weeks at this level. can i say this is the physical resistant of silver? at 38-39USD.

btw got rumours it will drop down to 36usd this week. just a mere speculation by a forumer in other group. hmmm

That's what we are all hoping for but if we are buying 10-50oz it doesnt make much a difference...but if we were to wait and the price increase, we have more too loose not buying then buying it at a higher price..
