Oh! lustman thank you. Terima kasih for promoting my blog.
smile.gif

there is always a difference between what people said they want to have and what they actually buy.
It's takes some time for you to figure that out.

People said they 1 2 marry leng lui but in the end their wife not so leng lui one. Why?
cause they R in compatible with leng lui lor. Some from cost point of view, some from behavior point of view etc.

QUOTE(lustman @ Jul 26 2011, 11:08 AM)
first of all i'm no agent/dealer. i buy for long term (many reasons).

before start any business one should first identify the objective/purpose of the business, in this case, a silver dealer.

second, must always remember, the margin for selling gold and silver is very low 1%-2%, e.g. $5000 = $50 profit. you may not see the profit bcos you need to buy back at higher price when replenish your stock. this is where many dealers stuck when the spot was almost $50.

if you accept this then you can consider.

malaysia dealers selling high bcos the price covers shipping and tax but still can sell back to the public. i think it's feasible for coins. if bars i heard now many people are bringing in bars bcos it's tax-free. honestly i don't "play" with bars unless it's for personal collection (again many reasons).

some people selling silver just for fun - seliing loose unless it's 10oz per piece and above. some serious by selling in tubes and this is what you should do.

i was told by someone before become a dealer collect your first 100oz and that's what i'm doing right now. when i'm done i may consider but off course have to see how much dough i have  doh.gif

you can also check with some local gold and silver companies (without naming names) that offering so-called entreprenuers to participate with them. to me (personal opinion) they're all very BIG B.S.  whistling.gif

anyways i've shared a few small dealers (check earlier posts) if you want to buy. get them in tubes bcos it's cheaper (per piece) like eagles, maples and philis.

maybe you can also buy those odd ones (expensive) for collection like panda, koala, kookabura, etc

remember here i'm talking abt silver coins and have no idea abt bars

last but not least goldchan can give a clearer picture of becoming a reseller as he's been doing this for a few years now. read his blog http://silvermalaysia.blogspot.com

Hi angelatan, I don't agree with you that silverformalaysia and merlip doesn't drop price when silver price drop. Because I monitor them a few times a day over the period of 4 weeks especially when price drop. Both of them update very frequently. You can check it out time to time to verify what I say smile.gif Forgive me for that cause I'm a full time investor for commodity, shares and properties, so i will be all time tracking price to get the cheapest source smile.gif

In fact, the best day to do comparison is on Saturday and & Sunday when the spot market close. Let's do another comparison for today since the spot market has closed. So this would be the most accurate as of now smile.gif This time i'm going to add in few more suppliers to compare investment bullion coin and bar.

merlip.lot.my
Not too sure what happen this two days, his store doesn't show any products and price. Maybe can compare again next Sat
1cheapsilver.com
american eagle = RM 163.40 (without cover)
                      = RM 165.20 (with cover)
tube price (20 piece) = RM 3268 (no need cover as they will provide tube)

1oz Sunshine Minting Bars = RM 143.10
20 * 1oz Sunshine Minting Bars = RM 2862
GoldChan Ebay store
20 * 1oz Sunshine Minting Bars = RM 2790 (significant difference for bulk)
silverformalaysia.com
american eagle = RM 165 (with cover) ** I'm not sure if they can go without cover
tube price (20 piece) = RM 3220 (significant difference for tube)
clickgold2u.com
american eagle = RM 170 (with cover)

** Price doesn't go according to spot price. But if spot price goes up another USD2-3 and if they remain with this price, then this could be a good source for loose ounce smile.gif
** You also can find american eagle in different years like 1986, 1999 here as well smile.gif
silveray.lot.my
american eagle = RM 169 (with cover)

** Price doesn't go according to spot price. But if spot price goes up another USD2-3 and if they remain with this price, then this could be a good source for loose ounce smile.gif
I do not factor in the postage for all the above sellers cause some can have COD and some don't. Some give free delivery for tubes and some don't. You can check it out with them if you want to know more.

Please share more if you come across other local suppliers so that we can always source for the cheapest silver in town !!

Hi Beginner2011, And ALL silver and gold buyer/seller

Great post!! Should have seen this and save me hours of finding local site for selling gold and silver. I'm also a beginner here and would like to start. But I guess I'm a long term investor, not collector.

How about besides sharing where to buy and what to buy, is there a site here we can team up and start offering to each other authentic gold or silver? I read some of you have hard time selling off kilobars of silver for example. I am looking to buy 1. Or some may be having a hard time selling some of their collection but it takes lots of time to browse thru all the postings.

Is there such a site for people like us to trade with one another without using the spread? For example Silver selling at RM 140 per Oz and buying at 120 per Oz, we can deal at RM 130 per Oz and we both walk off a winner!!

Do PM me if this site exist here or anywhere, if not, can we start it somewhere? a thread just for us helping each other to buy and sell without going thru middle man? But all receipt or packaging must be authentic.

Just a suggestion from a newbie.

bartering precious metal with another is not practical at all.

but buying good using precious metal as currency yes people are doing it already.

in malaysia dinars and dirhams are already in action in kelantan and selangor. a few FB groups are doing it too.

when buying gold and silver, it is meant for you to keep as long as you don't need the money. that's why never use daily, monthly or yearly expenses to buy. not even emergency money.

why is it hard to sell off bcos you bought the "WRONG" silver but if you're willing to sell below selling price i'm confident people are willing to take it from you instantly.

Will silver stay above USD 40 after 2nd Aug? Or it will slide back to USD32? What's your guess ?

Just wondering  tongue.gif

Difficult to say.. silver is so unlike gold. After year 2000, gold had picked up momentum and has been climbing high especially when the USD drops. But not really the case for silver... although the pattern lately have much followed the pattern of gold... but i think this is just because there is so much uncertainty in USD. Silver is very volatile i'd say.. but a lot of people are saying that it will be the next alternative commodity that people will look at after gold... especially when gold will be too expensive to own compared to silver.. my two cents worth

refer to pubmutt's post on auruma possible scam
also be wary of vgmc gold scam.

if u want to buy gold or silver, buy in amount of money that you can sleep peacefully rather than worrying it goes up and down the next day or in other word, amount u can afford. do not just simply jump into the train because everyone is jumping on it laugh.gif
as recommended by some ppl, 1kg - pamp suisse @ 1stopgold. gold, there are many around.

read through this thread for 3 hrs, and it was very enlightening to see the discussion had blossomed to a very interesting discussion.

i bought my first silver, from goldchan - 2 x maple and 1 x eagle. july 2010. rm88 each. silvertowne was selling rm70 each. it was below usd20/oz that time. bought it just for fun.
regret for not taking an offer of 1 tubes of eagle at rm95 each from a guy in mudah. that was the price when it was usd22/oz.

goldchan's blog posting was very informative. congrats! thumbup.gif thumbup.gif he was also very helpful when posting abt one guy wanted to exchange 40 silver coins (eagles, maples) with 1 oz of gold doh.gif doh.gif doh.gif

you CANNOT have the best of both worlds.

my advice, always i mean always stay away from anything you're not sure of and there are many other options, trust me, they are.

read back the old posts and you'll find treasure of infos for you to make an educational decision.

anyways, the safest bet to buy gold bullion is from banks. UOB selling the cheapest physical gold (as far as i know) and lowest spread.

if you're worry about keeping it at home, then open the bank gold account.

that's it, simple as ABC and definitely a no brainer.

and this is my advice only and you DON'T have to listen to me. icon_rolleyes.gif

I bought from aurumainternational last time. one thing for sure, they are not scam. they really deliver physical gold n silver.the company name is SG net from singapore. The best thing is that the company cooperates with Royal silver company which issue 99.999% of silver ( the purest silver coins in the world).
However, if you buy from them, make sure that you have to buy a lot. they ship the bullion by fedex, n damn expensive. Last time they offered Self collection, but now no more. So you have to bear shipping cost.

I went into UOB website yesterday to see their price on gold. not bad, i yet to have access on auruma prices. i would like to compare their prices, if the price of UOB just a little bit high than auruma, i still prefer UOB because its a bank and i feel more secure buying from them.

I'd went to their talk before and the speaker's is Jonathan which is one of TNA's boss. I suppose they have partnership with aurumainternational because they intro all the ppl in the talk to buy from here and also intro the MLM scheme.

Pros:
1. They have a shop in Mont Kiara which use to allow self-collection, but now no more.
2. Can use they platform to create your own business as it's MLM and you can start receiving commission once you join them with USD 299 and intro ppl to join.
3. Stocks will arrived in two weeks as promised

Cons:
1. 8 level MLM scheme. The price is much much much more expensive because they need to pay commission to agents. In investment, we shouldn't fall into this kinda scheme because your cost will gets higher and return will be generated in longer time.
2. On top of shipping, insurance and delivery, they also charge ADMIN FEES (don't know for what reason!!)
3. When purchasing, they charge you FEDEX rate for shipping, insurance and delivery and it's not cheap. They claim that the silver is shipped from S'pore but i really doubt it. The reason is when you receive the package, you notice that they're using UPS instead and they post it to you from MONT KIARA. UPS is much cheaper than FEDEX and this is a domestic delivery, not international delivery as claimed. So there's some CHEATING ELEMENTS here smile.gif
4. Limited variety.

I bought from them once after the attending the talks but i really regret doing so because really felt kena con ! wink.gif So it's really the 1st and last time ! Lucky thing is I never join member smile.gif They tried to convince all the attendees during the talk. Better avoid all this kinda talks in future !

In summary, for me, aurumainternational.com is NOT a good place to buy silver and gold. Just my two cents !

thanks for your info bro thumbup.gif really helpful for me. yeah i went for the talk as well. i think around last year..not so convinced at that time becoz for me, MLM is a big no no. i just interested with their claim that they sell gold n silver at cheap price.

anyway, now i interested at gold and silver, bcoz during last year..my fren who introduce me at auruma, bought gold for 1200, and now its 1600. and all that in 1 year. so its quite awesome, but im still careful and i want to find an alternative where i can buy gold n silver without need to do MLM and a cheap price. and yeah, trustable place to buy. im afraid to buy from these type of company that claim 99.999% of silver, and later find out it is not true. So i need to avoid that.

btw i will go thru this thread from page 1, to learn more.

Personally, I think MLM is not really terrible like what you think if you really know the true meaning of it. In fact, it's another type of marketing strategies which can greatly reduce cost of ads, retail, etc.
This matter has two sides of the coin. you can look the other way round.
One thing that I have to thank Jonathan (the person you claimed he is a boss of TNA.) is that he really contribute to our knowledge on investing in gold and silver. and what you mentioned 8 level MLM scheme might be true. but if you see the website www.goldsilver.com, they also have the same affiliate program.

Above is only my opinion, if i have made any inappropriate statement, pls apologize for my naive.

goldchan's blog posting was very informative. congrats!  thumbup.gif  thumbup.gif he was also very helpful when posting abt one guy wanted to exchange 40 silver coins (eagles, maples) with 1 oz of gold  doh.gif  doh.gif  doh.gif

Added on July 27, 2011, 3:03 pm1. when someone offer something for sale, price must be given. If not then be doubtful.
2. I oso 1 2 expand my business but then lot of hurdles lah.
a) Open shop :- got to quit $$$job, somemore not certain got good business or not. then got to jaga everyday. no fun.

b) Flea Market :- this one also susah. Things can get lost so many people walking around.
work whole day, 3-5 oz lost slip under someone pocket, then gone all your profit.

c) Commission to reseller :- margin so small how to give.
give them the goods today, USD40/- tomorow USD42/- price change everyday, how the reseller going to sell.

maybe just sell at ebay lah. earn less but more time.

thanks for your info bro  thumbup.gif  really helpful for me. yeah i went for the talk as well. i think around last year..not so convinced at that time becoz for me, MLM is a big no no. i just interested with their claim that they sell gold n silver at cheap price.

anyway, now i interested at gold and silver, bcoz during last year..my fren who introduce me at auruma, bought gold for 1200, and now its 1600. and all that in 1 year. so its quite awesome, but im still careful and i want to find an alternative where i can buy gold n silver without need to do MLM and a cheap price. and yeah, trustable place to buy. im afraid to buy from these type of company that claim 99.999% of silver, and later find out it is not true.

Yup, you're right. If you want to take it as a business, you can use the ready platform. Like what you say, you save on advertisement.

But if you're an investor then that's not a good place to buy smile.gif
