Hi Prophetjul,

I'd check out gainesvillecoins.com, I think you miss out the delivery of USD80 and also I read the posts here, forum members mentioned about the 15% tax, after calculated, it comes to about RM3200. I think is much more expensive and the shipping they stated there is 14 working days!

Have you actually bought from them before? Kena tax?

tq
*
i have bought gold from them, not silver.

i have bot silver but never been taxed.

i received my coins after a week. Yes if you buy from Gainsville, i has to be in bulk.
Even if you are taxed, it is similar to that site for silver eagles. Cheaper still for philharmonics.

Eagles: Rm2385 + shipping 240 + tax394 = Rm3,019

So its not much more expensive as you have indicated...... brows.gif

So the risk is you get them 15% cheaper!

all these are just lucky-lah. Never try never know I already told U all b4.
a) What U believe?
b) Experiment what you believe?
c) If success, continue with what U believe
d) If failed, change your belief.

For me, I go by the book.

one note: whatever u do just don't be too greed lah.
*
Ya maybe luck

What i try to show the bloke is that theres not any more risk in buyin form Gainsville...

at worst you get it at same price albeit 14 days later.......is 15% discount worth it?

Thats a question for the buyer to answer.............

Prophetjul, you must be damn lucky.

For me if it's not much difference, I would not want to take the hassle for all this tax stuff. I bought a couple of site from australia and also US in year 2009 until 2011, one of it is from www.kitcosilver.com and 99% of the time caught for the tax. Not to forget you need to do the bank wire which also incur extra charges. smile.gif

Silver investment in Malaysia is really tough unless you buy bars which is free from tax.

*
When i buy silver from overseas, its more for the numis value, ie a collection rather than pure bullions.
Maybe thats why they dont attract tax duties.
i dont 'invest' in silver bullions. i believe when the cr*p starts to happen in the financial world,
silver will be viewed as a commodity whereas gold will be a safe haven Currency.

i do however, invest in papaer silver for trading purposes....

Plus the fact, gold shines brighter than silver! biggrin.gif

i managed to get the eagles at $2900 from malaysia without going through all the "hassle" and worrying and enjoyed a cup of teh tarik during the transaction.

i'd say it all depends on one's priority and comfort zone
*
If you can get it cheaper in Malaysia, then do that by all means.
Care to share where you got that?

i managed to get 10 pieces of scottsdale 1oz for $1400 here locally. I've check the scottsdale website today at US$392.99 excluding shipping. Looks like not much difference but I get it on the same day (COD),. Yes, it's still up to individual liking of getting the silver.

BTW what's the postage?

Added on July 12, 2011, 9:57 am

i bought them when the spot was below $34. now i may not get that price unless the spot comes down again.

for me I think silver is more valuable.  Let see few years down the road, who is right.
it's just too much industrial usage. Unless, all the industry just stop.

Depends what you mean by "value".

As a currency or commodity..........

i am refering to a currency value.

you mean the spot silver will shot to US$175 from current US$38++? that's a bold statement. anyways, anything can happen.
*
Its from elliot wave theory i think.....wave 3 of 3 in a bull cycle is the biggest wave.
This points to a top target of $175 on the wave.

who would know that USD300 per oz of gold in 2000,  could fly to USD1580 in 10years period.. how about those spectacle without target or objective and exit in USD1000 per oz.. and now they might regret and sad because they left USD580 profit...!

*
Actually my sifu's target from 2001 was gold at $1650....i joined in the fun in 2002 at $220. biggrin.gif

Yes many of my friends who joined were shaken off at $450, $550 and $700. They never got back on because
$800, $1000 and now $1500 is expensive.

BUT you must also know WHEN to get off. THe fundamentals does not suggest that yet..........RIDE ON! thumbup.gif

in my opinion if you want buy silver in Malaysia you should buy silvers that are easily liquidated into cash.
So far the ready market to cash in on your silver is Public Gold.
Although the spread is quite wide, but they are willing to buy your silver when you want to sell to their dealers.
I am not sure whether they will buy any other form of silver asides from Public Silver bars.
But the market for other form of silver is still very small, perhaps only consist of fellow investors in silver.
For gold its different, cos you can convert any form of gold into cash at certain banks all over the country.
*
These are very good points.
i am sure public gold will consider other silver as.......junk silver. So expect maybe 30% haircut?

Thats the reason i invest in gold and not silver.
Silver for me is for numis collection

Finally it hits USD40 /oz ...

Don't get too excited now looking at the volatility ... the roller coaster history might repeat again from USD 49 to USD 33 !!

For me, doing monthly averaging is still the best smile.gif

Someone wrote its a technical rebound of a downward wave

QUOTE
The buying time for physical holder may come latter when the MACD shows positive divergence at the real bottom. The present upside movement is technical correction in a major downward wave.

If the C equals the A leg down we could see 17 bucks peeled off that 39 dollar handle or 22 bucks just above the old 21.30 high.

I agreed with that quote. that why i see potential target at USD 43-45 region which label C leg.
Upwave A>B, C>D completed at USD40, that why i foresee it will correction to USD 35-37. (preferable this week)
haha kanethesun, i believe that your greed keep screaming and fear shouting on your mind everytime while you seeing silver climb higher and higher right?  hmmm.. you can accumulate with fund at USD39, USD 37 region..
I foresee that silver will drop back to USD 38-39 this month end.
REMEMBER the NUMBER: USD37-38 is the fair range for Silver.
Whats a fair range?

The chappie indicated that silver may find $22 in this wave down.....thats a lotta difference!

1 dirham = 2.975 gram fine .999 silver

current price is RM25

dirham is used as currency to buy goods. totally cannot compare with 1oz silver coin. other reason is related to islam.
*
Thats for the Islamic countries to use?
i prefer my silver 999 biggrin.gif

Added on July 29, 2011, 7:57 amSilver worth: 2.975 grams of silver is 2.975/31.1 x $40 = $3.82 = Rm11

What else is in the dirham?

buying silver at spot price is not at all easy to do..
it takes a good sort around to find silver bullion with a low premium..

silver coins generally have even higher mark ups than bars and
although they may be good for the numismatic coin enthusiast..

tax, shipping, insurance and storage/operating costs to consider..
these sellers charge a commission for the work they do ....                  oops.gif
all these add to the costs of buying silver coins doh.gif

Unless your into silver for the very long term
it is better to buy locally..
icon_rolleyes.gif

Very good reasons why i buy silver only for numis value.............. biggrin.gif
