Gold is currency................silver is...........ummmmm....silver
*
If the Fiat currency world ends, Gold can get you BIG & EXPENSIVE ITEMS like property, cars ...etc. But what about small items ? we would have to leave it to silver smile.gif

For example,
In the ancient times in china, gold and silver has been used as a currency as well ... i guess the concept it's the same.

yeah, premium for engelhard is abit higher compared to others. 1 set rojak campur2. haha i prefer d same set of bars, he offering campur rojak..which is quite nice also..but not to my liking for now. =D
*
I agree with you. I prefer collecting the same type of bars in certain quantity. Like 100oz of morgan bars then only move on to another 100oz of scottsdale bars ... and so on

I feel good by seeing my collection in a big volume brows.gif

Gold already broke i t's reisstant of 184x, so it's shooting upwards to new high.

Silver? resistant as 42, so it's still a long way to go. if it doesn't break this barrier this time round, then we'll have to wait even more.

Somehow for silver we need to be patience ... It could possibly a good progress that it hikes up steadily rather than repeating the nightmare of USD 49 dip straight down to USD33

how about this:
1. we identify one supplier who is willing to work with us on tiering system
You can't identify only one supplier because you need to compare price and service. But maybe you can ask forumers around which supplier they have deal with and who they recommend. That'll save you lots of time to compare price as well as getting a recommended seller.

2. we open the floor for everyone to tell how much each person wants to buy, for example i might wan 10oz while another member only want 1oz. add up this amount
3. set a cut off date for this ordering
4. give the list of member and quantity to supplier. supplier is responsible to deal with every member private with the group purchase price

two issues we need to solve here:
1. how to avoid member ffk that might upset supplier?
Ask for some monthly regular buyers. Those will less likely FFK.

2. how to determine the spot price as different member might have difference preference on the "buying" time
Do it on weekends when spot market is close.

feel free to refine these

no one knows when PM price will be up or down. I have been buying monthly and averaging up ... or i buy when there's a huge dip in price ... i'm looking to collect until 800 - 1000oz of silver in 3 years time and wait for it to go till USD80 smile.gif

Then i'll sell half for profit and keep half of it for long term ...

i think when you want to invest in something, you need to be confident with the product, especially a product like silver that has no expiry date at all cool2.gif

Malaysians cant buy these coins from mint as they are considered bullions.
You have to be Aussie or buy from their dealers  ie premium added..........    mad.gif

The lunars especially the dragon is no longer considered bullion by collectors................

It's a good thing that we have another market for silver.

- Investor's market
- Collector's market

Eventually the collector might become the biggest investor as well because the collections might provide better ROI.

Silver market in malaysia will BOOM once the price hit USD 60 and above. Currently I'm seeing more and more ppl looking into it and researching about it. cool2.gif

if postage delivery, u might kena 15% tax as customs may check the shipments. if u go there and buy, kena 7% tax from singapore govt, but u can "sorok2" from msian customs... hahaha
*
Do not forget the 7% is in S'pore dollar.

If you convert 15% in RM could be cheaper.

guys, what do u think of this coin?

some people said the cougar design is horrible etc.
but since its a limited mintage, the premiums may be higher like the wolf and the grizzly... brows.gif
will u buy this coin? 1 piece or 1 tube? hmm.gif
*
It's a wildlife series of 6. If you're able to collect all 6 in this 3 years then it'll be very a cool investment.

Have you got the wolf and grizzly?

Kook 2012 and Panda 2012 should be a big hit and we will not be getting it at a low rate as people has start to notice the collector's value in it.

From what I know, currently kook 2012 is running at RM 175 - RM 185 in the market.

Do you think that's a good price?

now need to find supplier who'll sell with a discount proportionate to the current spot price la....
im yet to find such seller. anyone came across any good deal?
*
I check with a few suppliers for some explanation. Mostly replied with the USD index that is going up and they can't cope with it because most transactions is in USD. Which i think it's quite reasonable as 2 weeks back the rate was only +- 3.0 but now is +-3.2 mad.gif

I do not think the spot will drop below USD32. So i'll probably start buying again when it goes to 33.xx (that's what technical chart is showing currently) ... hopefully it does go to that ...

It looks like some manipulation is going on and some party are pushing down the gold and silver price. Not to forget that global market is sliding down like no one business and gold and silver margin traders are on for profit taking to cover losses in share market ...

After the Fed Reserve conference and with the oncoming euro crisis, price should be able to bounce back ...

I'm looking at silver to move to USD40 by end of the year and gold at USD1850.
