Wow, never thought of it. That's why when I met goldchan to purchase his bar, he was quite unwilling to step into my car. But I turn out to be an honest guy. Lucky us.

So usually we can't meet at places to quiet, not in the car, not too crowded else everyone knows you carry lots of silver and cash, must be some place moderately crowded yet, quiet enough to talk and exchange goods. I would say coffee bean or some classy cafe?

I usually COD in shopping malls, preferably on the top floor of some restaurant or cafes so in the event a robbery happens he still need to run a distance to get to his getaway car/bike, and usually they wouldn't take the risk. To be honest no one place can be guaranteed to be safe, just be cautious at all times.

With all the buying and selling going on here, the worst thing that could happen is criminals taking advantage of us either by posing as a seller and rob your money or a buyer to rob your silver.

Either sell here, or what I can do is sell it back to 1stopgold at a loss.

The equipment is way to expensive to purchase unless you are in the metal (recycling business)...it does not harm the metal, in fact, you need no remove the transparent plastic sleeve that comes with your silver bullion...

Tell us more, I'm pretty sure a lot of us would be interested especially when we purchase silver bars.

Some common bars: Morgan, Scottsdale, Sunshine, Silvertowne, PAMP Suisse, Engelhard, JM

Common / popular coins:  american eagles, canadian maple leaves, austrian philharmonics, australian koala

But like chunyen said, depends on your target group also. There is no 1 single item that is most easily liquidated. Each of these have their own target buyers.
*
Coins or bars in lower oz volumes are easier to move as compared to kilo bars or 100oz bars.

if you bring (lets say 10 to 20) coins back from singapore, would you be subjected to pay tax?
*
In Malaysia this is a very subjective question, if you get what I mean. But legally coins are taxable.

Sigh. The value of the metal or the value of the mint. Not to mention legal tender and liquidity issues.
*
You can always buy local dirhams for liquidity issue, some shops accept them as payment.

for singapore case, what happened if they caught u smuggling those silver coins?

u need to pay d tax, or tax + fine as well?
*
According to Jabatan Kastam you are allow to bring in rm400 worth of gifts, so if you get caught, they will charge you 30% of the value of your taxable goods. Refer to 1.1 and 2.1. I stand corrected.

do central banks keep silver?
*
Highly doubtful that they will keep silver when gold is a better commodity for the banks to keep.

Hi i'm new to this forum.
Am looking to invest into silver, have been looking at buying bars rather than coins coz I want to keep the value of silver. What would be a reasonable price for silver bars now?
*
For me 5% above spot for silver bars is reasonable. But that is my personal preference.

If you can find 5% above spot, let me know where to find. I will buy you lunch  biggrin.gif
*
Are we on the same page? I'm referring to Silver bar not coins? unsure.gif

Assuming that the spot price is usd39.340 x 35.27 ounce = usd1387.52 x 3.116 = RM4323.51 + 5% = RM4539.69

PAMP Silver bar is selling for RM 4,520.64

I stand corrected laugh.gif

are you sure your calculation is correct ? 1 kg = 32.15 oz. not 35.27 oz. PAMP silver is 15% over spot rate. If you think PAMP is cheap , i can sell  you cheaper, i sell you 500 pc 1oz bar at 10% over spot rate, rm137 per bar. you want to take or not ?  brows.gif  brows.gif

it was spread out over a few months. For the sake of the women we love, some of us (now or in the near future)  will have to let go some of our precious metal which considered besi buruk by our loved one.

Haha besi buruk. Which is why I'm always surprise when a female is into silver investment. rclxms.gif
