Yes you can register any Toshiba warranty if new set. However you might not be able to get service @toshiba malaysia. Because you actually dont have international warranty as claimed because u did not buy in US (you should know its PI set). Checkout the TnC for warranty dude.

But since its Toshiba, i doubt it will break down in the first year. Cheers

Technically its not entitled to international warranty since not bought in US (its a US PI set). I not even sure if they have US local warranty since you dont have US proof of purchase.

Since its cheap, thats the risk u have to take

and it only offers 1 year international warranty.

or izit possible for me to extend the warranty ?

I am guessing you are asking for parallel import set, because im not sure if the actual model sell here by Toshiba.

It is tricky actually.. but i must tell you the risk

Thing is, the set most probably is US set. Which have international warranty, applicable IF buy in one of the many states of US. But somebody take it and sell it here, which actually turn out you wont have any warranty at all for the set because you did not buy from authorize dealer in US.
Yes you can register Toshiba online, but it doesnt mean Toshiba will service your laptop.

So you are actually buying a new laptop with zero warranty (the most you get is default manufacturing warranty, but you have to claim it in Toshiba USA). That the risk you gonna take for paying much lesser.

However there are things around it. Maybe the seller have way around the system. OR when you go to warranty in Toshiba Malaysia, PRAY they did not ask for proof of purchase (dont give them the receipt you have!) because they want to verify its bought in US and also date of purchase.

thanks again for your response..

yeah, that's the exactly same source that I 1st encountered the NB550D since I was aiming at the NB520 initially and badly want to buy it..  laugh.gif

ermmm.. other brand? as the review said toshiba harman-kardon speaker put all the laptops to the shame isnt it? so i dont see any better choice rather than the Toshiba NB550D. Even this article says it all...

Toshiba NB550D review - By far the best netbook we've seen in a long time and very easy to recommend

NB550D is indeed a good choice smile.gif i had read several review and like it alot too

huh?? means u all just discuss x770 here oni?? or malaysia had x770 only??
*
Means Toshiba Malaysia sells high end x770 here only. Anyway regarding your question of x775, you know what throttle in gaming means? U fire up a game and it loads and runs smoothly... then it lags very much for no reason, fan firing at full rpm... then maybe another minute its smooth again but it lags again and repeat.

Other than this throttling problem and warranty problem, i think the x775 is a very good laptop for that price.

Hi bro have you seen the 3D version? Not that we need 3D screen... But i tell ya the 120Hz and full HD resolution looks damn nice^^ makes your 1600-900 looks ugly. No offence. I used to own both but sold both(due to no warranty) and waiting for my M18 instead.
