I'm still wondering why Toshiba wanted to offer 32bit OS in all their laptops sold here (even Qosmios, which is stupid)  laugh.gif
Apart from hearing ppl saying that Autocad doesn't work on 64-bit OS (not sure whether its true or not), I've never encountered any problems with other programs on 64-bit W7, even very very old programs used in my research  sweat.gif

I use ZoneAlarm on Windows HP 64-bit, which keeps hanging during Windows startup, rendering me unable to access the net. Have to restart a couple of times before it would work. ANother lappie running W7HP 32-bit works fine. So I think it's great Toshiba offers this 32-bit option

Added on July 19, 2011, 9:56 amHow is the battery life of L645/745? Good? 2-3 hours can (for normal surfing and word processing)?

Just bought the L745-1050X. Happy with it. I don't know why I didn't buy this in the first place (instead of going through the painful experience of buying two crappy lappies from Acer and having to endure major loss in selling them off less than a week after using them)

hey mine also satellite L745  laugh.gif  which color did u chose ? mine was L745-1052XR

Well, the L745-1050X is an Intel Core i3 machine (unlike yours which is i5), so it's limited to just one colour - black / grey. I've had the L310-S408 which served me relatively well for two years, hopefully I'll get more years from this machine...

2 years is kind of short-lived for a Toshiba sad.gif
What happened?  shocking.gif

It's starting to short my USB modems. To date three of my Huawei modems were burned by the machine. Also, it's battery consumption is also crazy - it lasts no more than an hour ever since day one I bought it. Other than that I think it's a good machine - very durable

I just bought the L745-1049U(?) with core-i3 2330M after selling L745-1050X. THe new one is still riddled with the same problem that drove me to sell the 1050X. Laggy youtube video playback (choppy and jerky) even when fully buffered. sad.gif

maybe your internet line problem ?

No it's not. Even fully buffered also stuttering.

And here's an additional kicker. At least the 1050X stutters ONLY in youtube. The 1137U which I bought to replace it has stuttering in BOTH YOUTUBE and NORMALLY PLAYING VIDEOS. mad.gif

I have a good mind to transform this laptop into a MacAir(Borne) out the window. I've run out of ideas what to do. The Ah Beng manning the Toshiba counter at LYP didn't want to accept the 1050X, so I don't really feel like trying my luck with this 1137U. Can anyone suggest what to do? I've reformatted to out-of-the-box state with both, still the same. The Intel display driver for the 1137U, when I initiated the installer, says the version that came with the lappie is newer.... icon_question.gif icon_question.gif icon_question.gif icon_question.gif icon_question.gif

Teledynamics don't seemed eager to help sad.gif

Yep, I experienced this too. They act like I'm being a burden to them.

laugh.gif mine is of a different case la haha....
The thing is that they say that Teledynamics is just a representative of Toshiba, anything official need to contact Toshiba Singapore, which I did but no replies whatsoever doh.gif
And because of the nature of the problem, which is with Nvidia G310m, they say that its Nvidia's problem  doh.gif (during that time, loads of other laptops from different brands were also powered by G310m as well and with no problems doh.gif)
I went through the same thing. I have laggy graphics with both 1050X, which I sold off, and bought the 1137U, only to end upwith the same problem. They say it's a problem with Nvidia/MS, not Toshiba.

But then this is the only problem case I have with Toshiba... all the others went well and the guys at Teledynamics are very friendly and helpful~
Its actually my fault for not researching enough before making the purchase laugh.gif

Not all went well. Mine didn't.

No. I already gave up. Toshiba broke my spirit. Right now I'm just waiting to get another system via loan. When and if I do get that, either I mothball the unit or give it away to some charity. Huhu.

Have you tried running Ubuntu in live cd and open youtube from it, see if got stutter ?

I'll try it within the next few days. Incidentally I am also considering formatting and re-installing Windows from scratch using a retail DVD...
