It is actually quite a wonderful notebook, the specs are good... but it will definitely be expensive cry.gif
Don't think it can support 3D gaming though hmm.gif

oh... any review about satellite E200? specs quite nice but expensive T.T
*
Yeap, like what Mr. lee what mentioned, the specs are pretty average. The Satellite E200 will be easily pawned by a majority of notebooks if not for its special features and design.
Personally I love the design, I was hoping future Toshiba units will look like the E200 (cheaper off course! keke) WITHOUT the overwhelming glossiness hehe~
The Satellite E200 was the 1st and is still the current notebook which supports Wi-Di technology that enable you to connect to TV using wireless (or something like that laugh.gif ). It is also one of Toshiba's 1st notebooks to have backlid keyboards (which is rather common in other notebooks) and an auto-display brightness adjustment device based on the environment's lighting.

I've heard these models are limited editions and only few will be made, so its more like a concept keke~ nod.gif
There are quite a few reviews based on the Satellite E205 which is sold in other countries, basically the specs are the same except that the E205 is 15 inch instead of 14. Here is one of the reviews: http://www.notebookreview.com/default.asp?...+satellite+e205

If you ask me, only those who prefer looks more than specs (like my gf) will actually want to pay for this notebook but that's just me laugh.gif

lolz hope this problem can be solved so that i can buy it without any fear haha XD

The problem will definitely be solved, its just a matter of times and also how many times people phone them to complain hehe XD
The problem only happens on the S433 model, the one with the touchscreen don't have that problem laugh.gif
Well, there will definitely be better notebooks from Toshiba or other brands by next year, so there's no need to fix which notebook you are going to buy so fast 1 hehe icon_rolleyes.gif

M500 would be a much much better notebook if it wasn't so glossy..... Well.... all the new Toshiba notebooks are glossy.... doh.gif

Hmm, so far so good.
Well its only 1 day old for me, I can't really tell much now.

This laptop doesn't have the shortkey buttons besides the power button.
and there's a minor noise from the fan when turning the laptop on.

But there are not the problems for me. lol ~
*
Congratulations on your laptop purchase and welcome to the gang hehe laugh.gif
Basically the L645 is more or less the same with the L510 but with better finishings. Still very glossy cry.gif Do let us know how's the notebook if you have the time ya, I'm sure many people are curious about this series of notebooks. They are quite popular lately.
I think most notebooks have the minor fan noise when switching on hmm.gif

Both brands offer good products. But it seems to me that ASUS always seemed to provide better in terms of specs and design laugh.gif I just hope they would let people extend the warranty cry.gif

Yup, Penang Island! Hehe laugh.gif
You can try Prangin Mall for notebook accessories, quite cheap over there and many choices.
If you are looking to buy notebooks, you can contact Hikari85 (Garage sales section), I think she's based in Penang (Butterworth area I think) too, she sells cheap and no delivery charges summore hmm.gif

Heard that they are opening some digital mall or something in Penang, something like lowyat... Don't know its true or not... Long time din't go back le hehe
Cheers!

Added on June 30, 2010, 11:55 amDear Toshiba Satellite M500-S433 users, I've just contacted Teledynamics regarding the graphic incompatibility issue. The guy said that we need to update the NVIDIA and BIOS driver. I'll try it out and see whether it works or not, I'll keep you guys posted. ^^

btw u own Toshiba Qosmio F60 ? how much did u bought it?
*
You are just buying the notebook from her ma... Repair still have to send to Teledynamics 1. Salesperson like Hikari85 can sell cheaper mainly because they don't have shop and can save up all the money required for running the store, so the items sold will be much cheaper. That's what I think anyway hehe laugh.gif
There's a Toshiba service center at Gurney Hotel that area iirc.

Ya, I own a F60. Bought it when it was 1st introduced, that time very rare, now you can see them everywhere haha
Bought for RM4690 at Cycom. Now got promotion where you get a free 500GB Toshiba External HDD for each Qosmio F60-BD531 model purchased drool.gif

It still costs the same according to brochures (i5 variant = RM4,799; i3 variant = RM3,799 with other freebies). But it shouldn't be too hard to get a cheaper price in shops ^^

Hey.. I m using Toshiba M500-S433..
The battery juz last for 2hours plus..
Does de model sell 16cell battery, tat can make de battery last longer?
Or does any battery last longer?
Pls tell me if got..
*
How old is your M500?
By right if running on Eco Utility + dimmest brightness + muting speakers, a new battery would be able to squeeze out approximately 3 hours usage. I think 2 hours is quite good for a 6-cell battery nod.gif
16cell? O____O I've only heard of 9-cell battery.
I think it is only possible to buy an additional 6-cell battery from Toshiba.

And do make sure not to expose the battery to heat as heat kills them icon_rolleyes.gif

The L645 is the replacement for the Satellite L510. I've seen it also, its even better designed that the previous model nod.gif But the specs are more or less the same only, nothing much to shout about hehe~ And the glossiness!! OMG!! Cannot stand it liao.... laugh.gif
I'm waiting for the new batch of 11.6 inch Portege using Pentium U5400, those should be quite good icon_rolleyes.gif

I dun like my L645 tho. When the cover is closed, it can be easily pressed. I scared I will spoil my L645 in that way >.>

I'm Regret that I didn't choose M900 =(
*
Yeah, the same goes to the previous L510 models, and many other budget line laptops nod.gif
Even so I don't think you can spoil your notebook that way la, we don't usually press our laptops now, do we? hehe
Nevertheless, must take care o~

The M900 is kind of heavy for a 13 incher, and the design looks very weird (to me) haha ~~

I like the red M900 lol. and it is not glossy !!!!
But my dad scolded me for paying more for a smaller size and slower laptop ?!

=.=" coz the Hertz got a MINOR different only. sigh...
*
LOL, well that's typical Malaysian Consumer Mentality hehe, everyone would just love to have the bigger yet cheaper stuffs haha laugh.gif
Then your dad will definitely hate the Portege T130 haha... Well, actually it depends on what you need in the end lo~
Yup, the M900 defintely ain't glossy, but the material looks like rubber or something, it feels like it will become smelly after exposure to sweat T____T

Well, generally smaller laptops will have slightly weaker processors so that the battery life can be longer which can be especially useful for mobile users.
The M900 is not a bad notebook, it even comes with an optical drive and a rather decent graphic card, same as the M500 iirc laugh.gif

im looking for a new Toshiba laptop, anyone can recommend which model to go for?

i need it for PHP development environment
multimedia = mic & speaker
wifi of cos.
13" - 14"
the lighter the better...

can tell me which model to go for?
*
Well you can take a look at the Portege T130 or M900 for 13 inchers as shown below (quoted from Mr. Miahahaha):

Toshiba M900, i3 330M + Nvidia 310M@RM3199
Toshiba T130, SU7300 + GMA 4500MHD@RM3099 *no DVD
Toshiba Portégé T130-D337, SU7300 + GMA 4500MHD@RM2899 + Toshiba SuperMulti External Drive
Toshiba Portégé T130-D332W, SU9400 + GMA 4500MHD@RM3099 + Toshiba SuperMulti External Drive + 2nd Year Local Warranty
Toshiba Portégé M900-D351, i5 520M + Nvidia G310M@RM4099 + 2nd and 3rd Year Local Warranty
Toshiba Portégé M900-D338, i5 520M + Nvidia G310M@RM3699

The T130 is lighter but it runs on CULV processors which is mainly for battery life one, the processor is comparatively (significantly) weaker than the M900.
The M900 comes with optical drive, a decent processor as well as an GC.... so its kind of heavy haha XD

If you are not very rush in buying can wait for the new Portege series (T210 or something, forgot the name le) that runs on Pentium U5400 nod.gif

how about the R700 that was just launched recently?
*
Yea, the Toshiba Portege R700- they say its one of, if not, the thinnest Toshiba notebook around o drool.gif
13 incher, powered by an i7 processor + Intel HD+ 128GB SSD with optical drive. Toshiba claims that its the lightest 13 incher ever (~1.39kg). They've also boasted about the cooling system which is based on the cooling system of jet engines (Airflow Cooling Technology) rclxub.gif . Prices are estimated at around RM3,999. There may be different configurations and specs (cheaper ones) too rclxms.gif Claimed battery life is ~8 hours drool.gif

Funny thing is the Libretto W100 is way expensive than the Portege R700 at approx. RM5,000 sweat.gif

Hi, I'm a Toshiba user for about 2 years. There's one problem that i found from my Toshiba laptop is, it will heat up the whole trackpad area easily and now my 2 USB port have not been functioning and may i know is it cheap to change it or do anyone have any idea to solve this problems. I now only left one port which is quite inconvenience for me. Thank you.
*
Hihi fellow Toshiba user laugh.gif
Which model are you using? Is it the M100 or M200? Just curious... hehe Previous Toshiba notebooks are known for the notorious HEAT...
Trackpad heating up>? Usually its the palm rest that gets heaty during load.
Is your notebook still under warranty? If yes then you just need to bring it to Teledynamics either in Shah Alam or Lowyat plaza.
If not then you could:
i) Repair your notebook at Teledynamics too. Not sure how much its going to cost though...
ii) Buy a USB hub and connect it to your remaining, functional USB port.... its rather inconvenient but still, its the cheaper alternative icon_rolleyes.gif
