Yo bro, I was just wondering, how are you getting on with your notebook's keyboard? laugh.gif
Can type as fast and smoothly as the older laptops?
I may need a small sub-notebook for mobility and most importantly, fast- typing. It seems I prefer the old notebook keyboard buttons more haha rclxub.gif

Thanks 1st for your comments!

Added on May 6, 2010, 11:13 pmYo! All Qosmio F60 users... driver updates for the NVIDIA GT330M is available at the Toshiba website already~
Can you guys please try out whether you could update or not? The files I downloaded claims that they only recognize Windwos 7 64-bit rclxub.gif
Your help will be very much appreciated, arigato notworthy.gif

Yeah, its a very nice and classy notebook. The speakers are real awesome!! thumbup.gif Red also looks nice rclxms.gif
I would say wait until the incompatibilities problems are settled 1st only buy. This problem will occur in all M500-S433 models and so far no solutions have been found cry.gif You can always choose some other notebooks, there are many out there hehe laugh.gif

Well, the Toshiba F60 is simply awesome if you ask me laugh.gif
Basically its a very nice looking multimedia notebook. The speakers are the same as that of the M500 which are superb in every way rclxms.gif Heat is not a problem for this notebook due to the large amounts of heat sinks~
The glossy surfaces of the notebook will tend to attract a lot of fingerprints but they will still look good after a few years of usage ^^
The F60 is quite expensive though compare to its counterparts X___X
As for performance, the F60 is up to my expectations~ If gaming is your priority, there are better alternatives out there ^^

All in all, its not a bad notebook o if you have the money to spare~ But its not really recommended if you have mobility in mind, its a bit too big hehehe icon_rolleyes.gif
Eguy1314 and I are writing a review on this notebook, can refer to it if you are interested notworthy.gif

Oh I see, thanks alot ^___^
I'm still not really familiar with the keyboard layout, especially the keys which are more or less flat hehe
Old notebooks' keyboard buttons bulged inwards, which are more comfortable to type I think laugh.gif

Hihi, sorry to hear of your problem rclxub.gif
Did you do anything to your HDD partitions when you 1st got your notebook? By right there should be a hidden partition storing all Toshiba system files and these are the files that will be backed up via HDD recovery media.
If you haven't done anything then its better to refer to the shop, see what they can do for you icon_rolleyes.gif
Hope you can get the problem fixed asap...

Mine come with 500gb external hdd (given Buffalo brand due to lack of stock),a sling bag and I exchange free gifts for antivirus (given trend micro internet security for 3 pc but 2008 version). RM4799.
How about yours? What you get? Including sling bag?

i should had tried to bargain when buying this laptop. thought it's fixed price maybe.
Eguy, i also experience some weird sound somtimes when playing songs.
I'm using 64 bit window 7. the only way i know to switch from 32bit to 64bit win 7 is by HDD recovery. which mean formating i guess. (pressing "0" while switching on)

pf t.j., the link for toshiba Nvidia Geforce GT330m driver update shows me "Sorry, system encounter some problem during processing your request!
Error : "

Bought mine F60 at Sungai petani pc fair. Still sealed in box when i took it home.

Added on May 14, 2010, 1:10 pmSo far i had finished played Avatar the game, Prototype, and The Last Remnant on my Qosmio F60. Still ok. Can play high detail, but not max everything for Avatar the game and The last Remnant. Prototype can hang, don't know due to bug or limited hardware. Currently playing Risen and Just Cause 2.

O___O I downloaded from the link wo.... I try putting it here again: http://toshiba-asia.com/portal/public/sear...rentTab=service
Perhaps cannot directly place the link there. If that's the case, just go to Toshiba Asia website>bulletins & drivers> select your notebook model>W7> Display

I managed to download but cannot update... The installation program says that the OS must be 32-bit Windows 7 (I'm using 32-bit... redundant) doh.gif
Perhaps you can try it out and help us out? I'm not really good at these kind of stuffs haha laugh.gif

Played Batman Arkham Asylum, NFS Shift, Crysis, Crysis Warhead, C & C Tiberium twillight and currently RE5... So far so good~

I have a problem with my Satellite M500... Sometimes after using it, the laptop will suddenly hang and usually I'll just take out the main power and switch it back on. And I don't know why that happens... So yesterday I had the same thing happened to me, the screen froze for few mins and after that it entered blue screen (blue screen of death)... then the system just restarted... I don't know what's going on and I have no idea what's the cause so I want to know whether my other Satellite M500 users are facing this problem?? I still have the problem with the NVIDIA graphics 310M, BTW.
*
Hi bro, you are using the M500-S433?
So far there's no solution for the incompatibility of the NVIDIA 310M unfortunately, need to wait T____T (starting to get agitated)
Were you running anything when it hangs? O____O
So far no BSOD with my gf's M500-S433 rclxub.gif

Yeah, using M500-S433... (I'm getting agitated as well)
Yeah I was running Firefox, Winamp and then randomly clicking around, then it hung.
The second time was when I was waiting for PPS (P2P video streaming) to load...

The previous times when I didn't wait for the BSOD to appear and straight switched off my laptop was when I was playing FB games, and tabbed browsing... which is pretty manageable for my 4GB RAM laptop.
*
Sorry, thought you were a guy rclxub.gif
BSOD may be caused by software or hardware problems I think. Perhaps you can try troubleshooting by recovering the system discs you created when you 1st bought your notebook (which will reformat all your harddisk partitions, so be sure to back them up), after reinstallating see whether the problem still persists (without installing any additional programs like PPS)

If its hardware prob then perhaps its best to just pay a visit to Teledynamics. Are you based in KL>? O_____O

owh and my laptop is portege m900 it has ati gc,but i cant find the catalyst control center(if its what its called to customize colour display)

Hihi, you mentioned that your notebook just came back from service centre, what was the problem?
Did the repair involve reformatting your notebook?
Well, its good to make sure that your windows is always up-to-date so that your notebook performance will be better/protected etc.
The program should be there (ATI catalyst control centre) try "search". If not you can always download it from Toshiba website I think ^^

When you 1st bought your notbeook it is highly recommended to backup all your system files into 4 DVD+R discs as backup just in case anything happens to the system files in the Harddisk itself, you can create these discs via the Recovery Media Creator (the name is something like that LOL) program ^^
Yes, they've just opened a new Teledynamics store in Lowyat which is opened even on Saturdays and Sundays (Finally!!!! rclxub.gif )
If you have any problems you can ask them for help icon_rolleyes.gif

QUOTE(cherriedpie @ May 30 2010, 05:32 PM)
I just found out the cause of my BSOD.. *drum rolls* the display driver! which is the one M500-S433 is so commonly having problems with. Apparently it failed to recover, hence a BSOD appeared. Usually the screen will freeze, black out and recover with a pop-up at the bottom right hand corner. So this time (and the previous times), the display driver failed to recover.

Problem is, my driver is updated to the latest. However, I checked Toshiba's website for the display driver and found out the one they updated on May 25th is a driver that is an older version of the driver available on the NVIDIA website. So which one should I download? Should I still visit the Teledynamics store?
*
Oh I see, so the problem is also associated with that incompatibility issue rclxub.gif
Yea, the websites are more often than not, not very updated 1 hehe laugh.gif
Just stick to the latest 1; but I don't think that the problem can be solved just yet cry.gif
Try downloading and installing the driver and see whether the BSOD problem is solved. I doubt the "problem occurred and recovered" problem will be settled though... T____T

i would love to buy the Toshiba m500 its my favourite model at that range have ben saving for months for it but after reading the problem faced. BSOD?! Are there any solution to it? Does it happen frequently?
*
No, the BSOD is another problem. The actual problem is mostly due to graphic card incompatibility kua... The problem occurs (from time to time, not very frequent) where a message will jump out telling the user that there's a problem with the GC and has been fixed (which can be very annoying LOL laugh.gif ) No news so far, will keep on "disturbing" Teledynamics until they give us users a solution (My gf is using an M500-S433, unfortunately). However, do take note that this problem only exist for the M500-S433 model. No problems with other M500 models, but heck, the S433 is the most popular and offers the best specs doh.gif

Perhaps can wait, or simply choose another model. There are some rather good ones from other brands o icon_rolleyes.gif
The super glossiness of the M500 can be a problem to some icon_rolleyes.gif

Added on June 14, 2010, 11:24 amDear Toshiba users,
It seems lately nearly all Toshiba notebooks are equipped with both 32-bit Operating systems (Windows for this case) as well as 64-bit Operating systems (which are installed into the hidden HDD partitions of each notebook). Notebook sellers prefer to start up the whole notebook with 32-bit OS , mostly because of the shorter time required to boot the whole system. Since 32-bit OS can only support around 2.98GB of RAM, those who bought Toshiba notebooks with RAM upgrades (to 4GB RAM- models include Satellite L510, Satellite Pro L510, M500, M300, T130, F60 etc.) will not be able to fully utilize the RAM. This can be settled by converting your 32-bit OS to 64-bit OS. You can do it via recovery from the Toshiba hidden partition itself, or via the 4 system recovery discs that you burnt when you 1st got your notebook nod.gif

The guide to Toshiba's HDD system recovery can be found here: cdgenp01.csd.toshiba.com/content/.../PMA500339010_web.pdf

Generally, it would be easier to conduct the recovery from the Hidden partition than the recovery discs (noneed to keep on changing discs XD )
In general, the steps involved are:

1. Make sure you backup all important files, EVERYTHING will be reformatted (except the Hidden Partition) when you recover your system. Noneed to worry about drivers and Toshiba programs as they are included in the Hidden Partition/Recovery discs.

2. Plug in A/C adapter and if possible, plug in the battery just in case of blackouts (in Malaysia) XD

3. Shut down your notebook.

4. Press and hold the "0" and the "power" button. A window will appear asking you whether you want to load a 32-bit or 64-bit windows. The remaining will be easy, just choose the "recover to out-of-box state" (Actually noneed to change anything, as for the subsequent windows, the initial ticked box will be the recommended one) XD

5. Partition reformatting will commence. Initiate the next step.

6. After that, leave everything to your notebook, it will restart on its own for quite a few times (to install the drivers and programs), may take up to 1-2 hours depending on your system. You will be configuring your OS in no time.

I guess that's all, hopefully this will help those who wanted to switched to 64-bit OS i.e. Eguy1314 ^_______^

** Be warned, Toshiba's feather touch buttons may become unresponsive after switching, still looking for answers for that one, it seemed there are no drivers for these buttons zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Anyway, Do refer to the link above for more elaborated details icon_rolleyes.gif
Best of luck!
