QUOTE(SihamZhai @ Feb 26 2012, 03:31 AM) Hey guys, just bought a Satellite P755 with the 2GB graphic card on it. Noticing however that it does not allow me to play certain games like dota 2. Each time I launch a game, it shuts down by itself. I've update the driver to the latest one already. I heard it switches the graphic card automatically but it doesnt seem to be happening. Any advice? Tried using Nvidia Optimus to fixed the dGPU for Dota 2? |

QUOTE(monkeybanana123 @ Mar 16 2012, 11:15 PM) I've recommended quite a few Satellite L745 Well, they are rather nice laptops, cheap, yet decent The speakers are soft and the surface/screen is glossy... Build is solid, touchpad is good, and damn the keyboard is ergonomic and good to type on |

QUOTE(kangyoon20 @ Mar 28 2012, 09:00 PM) i'm looking at L745 as well Don't judge GPU performance by VRAM only, its just a marketing gimmick saw in a shop offering RM20xx for i5 2450 4GB 1GB VRAM i tot it shud b selling above RM2.2k? also they have same price and same spec for Asus but with 2GB VRAM which make me cant make the decision now.. Which Asus are you comparing to? A43sm? A43Sv? Added on March 29, 2012, 10:40 am QUOTE(aimy @ Mar 29 2012, 09:02 AM) Hi all.. Welcome back I'm still hoping for the awesome Toshiba netbook N550D But now.. I'm befuddled between that netbook and this tablet.. REGZA Tablet AT1S0 The reason why I'm hoping so much for the netbook coz I want everything that I can do with the PC, I want it as well to be available with the netbook/tablet. For example, I want all videos that I've downloaded (can be viewed so smoothly via my PC) also can be watched through the netbook/tablet. Also I want to use them as a picture browser/digital album. Anyone? Thanks. Told you Toshiba Malaysia was just simple crapping about bringing one in How about going for this one instead? 12.5" Samsung 3 series [NP350U2B-A01MY/A02MY/A03MY], i3-2310M + Intel HD3000@RM1899 Or wait for more powerful Ivy Bridge processor-powered notebooks, they should be around around the 3rd quarter ~ This post has been edited by [PF] T.J.: Mar 29 2012, 10:40 AM |

QUOTE(XionCity @ Apr 10 2012, 05:02 PM) Hey all, may I know how's the review and rating for Toshiba Qosmio F430 i5 specs RM2699 model ?? F430 belongs to Ferrari, not Toshiba really likes Toshiba, really good build quality....own a Toshiba M200, satisfied with it(except it uses Intel graphics) You must be referring to the Toshiba Qosmio F750 right? Here's a review on the unit: http://www.trustedreviews.com/toshiba-qosm...0_Laptop_review Its quite expensive for the specs, but if you like it, then go for it Added on April 11, 2012, 8:23 pm QUOTE(a-ei-a @ Apr 11 2012, 04:57 PM) http://mobile.theverge.com/2012/4/10/29379...idge-processors You can count on it, Malaysia will definitely get most of the lineups Available in Q3, when would it be available in Malaysia? QUOTE(a-ei-a @ Apr 11 2012, 09:11 PM) It depends on your usage actually, if you're only using it for simple tasks, it doesn't hurt to get a laptop now... But then I have to admit that the next generation notebooks look a lot more attractive than the ones we have now |

QUOTE(danco91 @ Apr 15 2012, 09:48 PM) hi. i just bought a toshiba satellite L755-1027X at the pc fair. i know it's a little too late but anyone has any thoughts for this notebook? Grats on your purchase Its not a bad laptop, good screen, comfortable keyboard~ And the new design is not that much of a fingerprint magnet anymore! A good choice I would say... the only two things that I don't really like about the L755 is the weak hinges and the poor speakers |

The Portege R830 runs on a full-fletch Sandy Bridge CPU... even an i3 would be more powerful than any ULV-CPUs in the Portege Z830.
Imho, R830: - more powerful processor - Hdd (7,200rpm), more space - very light for its class Z830: - slightly lighter & slimmer - SSD There are cheaper variants of the Portege R830 which you could opt for as well, and they do come with 3 years warranty as well iinm |

QUOTE(jaycolaz86 @ Apr 18 2012, 06:44 AM) I bought same model as well from pc fair too, but I think I consider bad luck coz my one when open the system, it will keep on shut down unexpectedly although the system diagnose showed normal, I don't what the heck going on....I end up spent money to buy a disaster. Anyone here experience it? Hardware problem or the window 7 os failed? You do realize that there's a one-to-one exchange policy within 7 days if there are faults with the laptop? Added on April 18, 2012, 9:21 pm QUOTE(danco91 @ Apr 18 2012, 12:39 PM) thx. I missed the keyboard on Toshiba units.... they are really, really nice to type on even though they're flat i got the display one.. As for the speakers, just because its Dolby enhanced doesn't mean its good, much like those Altec lansing speakers in Asus A series etc. As for the battery, just try to avoid exposure to heat, which is why its best to remove the battery when you're plugged in~ Aiya, why you buy display unit? There are so many left in LYP and Digital Mall... lol Added on April 18, 2012, 9:23 pm QUOTE(kangyoon20 @ Apr 18 2012, 12:54 PM) I experienced slow startup, lag, totally hang, after only using it for few times. Yes, Toshiba is also one of the brands that offers a damn lot of bloatwares which will inevitably slow down the startup time My Reel Time now already in error and cant b used. After I update my W7 and norton IS, It seems much stable nw Bt still v slow startup I see alot of toshiba application running in background right after startup, Could this b the reason of slow startup? Possible to dissable any of these? For me, apart from the Eco Utility as well as the PC diagnostic tool, others are rubbish I just delete/ disable them so as to attain a faster startup speed This post has been edited by [PF] T.J.: Apr 18 2012, 09:23 PM |

QUOTE(jaycolaz86 @ Apr 20 2012, 01:14 AM) of course i aware bout it, so that i have been sent it off to toshiba service center at lowyat....but the technician can't promise when can finish diagnose, and if the one-to-one policy lapsed, then it will jeopardize me....i wondering if the 7 days lapsed, if certified by the toshiba technician that the laptop component malfunction, can exchange me with a new one???? that is what i worrying now The 1-to-1 exchange is with the shop, not Teledynamics If there is a problem, you just have to demand for a new one... not send to Teledynamics |

QUOTE(kangyoon20 @ Apr 20 2012, 07:41 PM) now only i know W7 32bit can only use 4G RAM max Yeap, all Toshiba units come with W7 32-bit at 1st (well, most sellers will choose to startup W7 with 32-bit to save time during purchasing)....so my free 8G upgrade is totally useless after the GPU 1GB ram reserved, my system only have 2.74G usable ram show in system properties and with just firefox running now, my L755 already constantly using 1.3G, about 50% of my ram... is this normal? Usually its less than 3GB RAM (mine was 2.98GB) usable for a 32-bit system... Still, no worries since you can still change your windows version to 64-bit yo The protocol (written by me, a long time ago) is here » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « This post has been edited by [PF] T.J.: Apr 20 2012, 10:49 PM |

QUOTE(kangyoon20 @ Apr 20 2012, 11:03 PM) yup, the salesman actually asking me want a 32bit or 64bit Yeah, that was what they always say but i was worry about any software or program doesnt work with 64bit yet so i choose 32bit so far u encounter any software not work with 64bit? think i'll go for 64bit else the extra 4G ram will just slp inside my L755... anyway is it normal that my laptop using 1.3G ram with just firefox running? They said the same thing to me when I've purchased my Toshiba Qosmio F60 more than 1.5 years ago Software incompatibilities will not be a big problem (C'mon Toshiba, all the other brands are running on 64-bit Windows anyway) But you should take note if the programs you used are less popular- specific programs used in Bioinformatics, Engineering etc. Nope, I'm not having any incompatibilities issues at all after converting to 64-bit Added on April 21, 2012, 7:27 pm QUOTE(jaycolaz86 @ Apr 21 2012, 07:09 AM) Yup, been the shop first, but the seller still they insist me to send to service centre diagnose first only decide whether to exchange to me...is that the normal procedure? Got no choice, the laptop have been send in for the toshiba technician to check, if the retail shop don't exchange for me, sure I will complaint the shop (fosa marketing)...what a bad luck for me coz this is the first laptop I buy... Nope, that is not the normal procedure.... by the time Teledynamics finished checking your laptop, they'll probably say the that you cannot change anymore By right you can just change on the spot if there's stock This post has been edited by [PF] T.J.: Apr 21 2012, 07:27 PM |

QUOTE(Calvin Seak @ May 1 2012, 07:36 PM) Hey guys! Some site tells me that toshibas laptops are international warrantied but the site I would like to get from said toshiba limited warranty Yeah, apparently certain laptops only come with regional warranty as stock So I was wondering if I should import the laptop since its much cheaper in US compared to Malaysia If there's no international warranty are the repairs expensive? What I heard about toshibas laptop is that they are reliable and build to last.. So far I've been using dells laptops and desktop and thinking of changing Just wondering, how come you want international warranty? Basically it depends on models, certain models come with 3 years international warranty as standard o.... otherwise you could also opt for local/ international warranty extension (at a price of course In general, Toshiba units are quite reliable and nicely built, however should any problems occur, fixing might take up to 2 months depending on severity of the issue. On the other hand, if covered, Dell's on-site warranty enables you to fix your laptop within 1-2 working days which is a huge plus- saves a lot of time |
