my friend using toshiba L510-S4017B, but prob to install wifi driver and LAN driver, may I know what realtek version driver using by this laptop. How to turn on wifi? FN + F8 or FN + F10.

I reinstall the driver, after that it's fine, but after a day it's disabled again lol..

Just to ask something, about the notebook built in fan, does it run all the time? sometimes i feel it's running sometimes not..

Haven get a nice cooler pad,
From toshiba pc health check, the fan is at 0%.. means not moving at all..
The cpu temperature is at 47% and the fan 0%..
BUt sometimes restarting the notebook the fans run at max speed, and brings out lots of heat and cools down quite fast.. Wonder why, to save energy?

PC fair is crowded with people, T110 sold out but the price are the same.. Lucky^^

The heat at the notebook is on the left portion.. But still acceptable to me..

Added on April 17, 2010, 9:58 pmLatest update, the fan only starts when the heat is over 50 percent, now burning the backup dvd.. that's why can monitor the fan speed.

Hi! Toshiba Satellite L510 new user reporting in   

After running through the laptop with Window 7, there is still a lot questions on some Toshiba pre-loaded software. Hopefully with current user and new user would kindly share some experience here.

1. Before buying this laptop, the technical personnel mentioned that we do not require to create back up for the Window 7, drivers, Toshiba utilitise, or bettter know as Product CD. Why there is Recovery Media Creator, that require 4 DVD to create Product CD? If in future, formatting the laptop is require, how would be all the Window 7, drivers to be re-installed as originally when we bought the new laptop?

Hopefully the experts here would be able to clear my doubts here

Hi PF T.J, thanks, feels great to be proud owner of Toshiba. Pardon me for not able to remember the model    and this laptop is 4 Gb RAM and 500GB Hard Disk with i3 processor. Really great info and i just have to agree with you that is good to make a recovery product CD.

The problem now after viewing your comments, the tech personnel didn't explain detail which is preferable on using 32 bit or 64 bit. What he explain for 64 bit usage is more to graphical usage, which i'm not using much of that. So he suggest me to go for 32 bitsys. And regarding the partition disk, during the whole process of window 7 start up, there is no query of asking me to partition or not. Hmm...so now only one partition, which i'm really not looking for.

How would you be suggesting to create partition hard disk in my current state? Would it be possible to do it without formatting everything?

Will venture with this laptop and hopefully will comeout a constructive comment which might useful to potential buyer and current user as well.

Hey, I'm a new Toshiba user. M500-S433. Got mine during PC fair.

So I have this problem, sometimes when I'm using the laptop, the screen will suddenly black out and then recover few seconds later... Then a notification bubble will pop and it says the NVIDIA kernel driver has stopped responding and recovered. At first I thought it was momentarily and one-time only but recently it happened a few times, is there ANY way to make this problem disappear permanently?

They released a new driver V196.16 if i not mistaken but i tried it as well the only thing diff with the error is the version which doesn't help!

If as you said change a new set, hey i done so i changed my set 4 days ago with the problem still persist. I bought my laptop in Feb and i change it 4days ago! the next 2 day same error
And i believe your laptop is using a 189.78 driver which is standard at the moment

Did you try out the speaker?    I personally think my speaker got problem...sometimes there will be some weird sound coming out from the speaker when i listen to music or watch movies, not a soft sound it like the whole music sound become dunno what sound ... really swt sia..

I bought the T110 Intel SU2700 cpu not the i3. Toshiba bundled applications are very GOOD & user friendly!!!

I don't know about your gf but although they advertised 64-bit, they gave me a 32-bit version. But since 64-bit has compatibility issues with certain programs, I'm fine with the 32-bit so far.
Yeah I went straight to NVDIA website to upgrade my driver. The problem still persists but not as frequent. Still waiting for a better upgrade. BTW the link you provided is invalid.

Here's my story of my beautiful yet elegant M500-S433

On February i bought this laptop, was happy with it  great sound harmon kardon! stylish etc etc 

However on the 2nd day of having this laptop, the disaster begins! Screen goes blank for 1 sec and the balloon pop
out saying "Display Nvidia Error" so yea i got it once and i thought it recovered so i didn't bother but unfortunately it appeared again several
time and i got fed up. Called the person who sold me the laptop, he ask me to bring it over for some checking but they couldn't find the
solution for it either    so i kept the laptop for awhile trying to troubleshoot it myself but the problem actually worsen.

I finally made the decision to call the Manager there which it was quite tough but i got thru so yay for me. Complain to him about the problem
and he decided to change a new set for me. Fair enough right?! ok happy with the deal so i manage to change only in April to be more accurate
just last 2 week on the 20th i think because they need to order new stock.

Was happy that i called the manager, another new laptop babeh!  lol! but then the next day, same problem persist..... i stopped
window update on this new set when i 1st gotten it btw. So yea, called the manager again saying it occur the same problem    he got shocked
as it was a new set -____-" he said he will bring my old set to teledynamics to find out wht is the problem to it. He was very very friendly and
helpful    glad i bought from him 

However, teledynamics they can't even figure whats wrong with it [can you actually believe that]? i got fed up and decided to change to VAIO which
the manager allows me to    i chose VAIO EA16 that haven't arrived in any of the stores -____-" but today i got a call from him
saying that the model is finally on its way
