I am in the plastics manufacturing line and therefore familiar with the different grades of plastic.

When it come to the mold there can be two possibilities:
1. TakaraTomy sent the mold to Mocom for them to use and manufacture
2. OR Mocom developed a brand new mold themself

When it come to the grade of the plastic:
1. Different supplier may offer different grades of plastic so unless Takara or Hasbro controls the grade of plastic from one supplier then it is safe to say its the same.

When it come to painting the plastic
1. If it is done by manual labor then every piece will be different and it boils down to the level of QC in the respective factory.

Frankly speaking we do not know if the mold is the same or the grade of plastic is the same therefore it is hard to conclude that TakaraTomy is superior to Mocom. Maybe in terms of their QC but judging from TakaraTomy's recent quality I have my doubts.

Lastly, whether its TakaraTomy (Japan), Mocom (Korea), Hasbro (USA)... its still "Made in China" smile.gif

You are right. All Made in China. But do you know that TakTomy controls their quality more stringently compared to their sister companies? This is ensure their superior resale value in future. Look at all the Transformer lines. Japanese toys are much better compared to non-Japanese produced lines. All use the same mould. So, I think it is the resin used which in my opinion is slightly better.

Anyway, this is just my 2 cents worth.  smile.gif

Yeap maybe its the manual labor? As I notice the quality of the plastics is quite similar only difference is the paint/chrome applications. Guess TakTom's QC on that is still superior to the rest. How nice if it was produce in Japan with Japanese manual labor and stringent QC but then I think the retail price will be doubled tongue.gif
