my n86 prompted me to update dz Python....wuts dat?
is it software like OVI or wut?

Python is a runtime for Nokia .. its some kind of support runtimes, like .DLL and .OCX for our Windows XP

There are no new firmware updates since the last v31.0.101, most likely if Nokia releases major updates in the new firmware ure fone will be totally broke (most apps wont work)

There are rumours saying if Nokia releases v41 for 5800XM, then the gap is far (from v31 to v41) there will be mass and major updates will be included in the firmware, if so .. I suggest u take out SIM Card and Memory Card before updating to v41.

Python is an optional, but im not sure if their release in v41 with kinetic scroll, they might wan users to update Python runtimes.

This is my first time observing Nokia sent Python v2.0 to customers, even for Python 1.9.7, they never sent it via OTA.

Observed in the updates, there are also widget runtimes in this updates, so might probably Kinetic Scroll + Widget Homescreen will come true ..
