Yes, now its less on memory grabbing n seems fast ..

Yan .. .. im using FULL SCREEN KEYBOARD to ease my typing, i dont hv such problem, of use the numeric style then got problem, its not that the Garmin halted but stuck at the numeric pad and cant go out

I'll try send out an email, btw .. anyone using 5.00.60 (taiwan edition)? hv such problem? mine is 5.00.50

oooo ... i tot u describing 5230 .. there are 5230 homescreen for 5800 bt its not fully funtional like the contacts n such..

I managed to overcome the light leakage, i took my fone part by part n found the front camera (lcd double sided sponge / i dunno wtf they call the thing) got thin already, this causes the light leakage, i fixed by cutting black thick tape and replace the seal

with the standard ear-set from nokia the sound is awesome, im not sure if use the Nokia headset .. surely amazing

ure fone front case is not intact properly, the touch sensor actually inside and behind the RED + MIDDLE + RED button, i suggest you to take back the device to wer u purchased and ask them to open front case and tighten it back properly, after that, do a hard reset and calibrate touch screen immediately before u go further and install any applications.

Possible cause:
1. Hardware fault
2. Low memory which causes camera load unstable, basically camera needs high priority to run and takes more RAM
3. Check your firmware, as they already overcome this in v31.0.101 (v21 has this problem)

We'll wait & see the outcome ..

My recommendations:
1. Windows Live Messenger (If you only use MSN as ure messenger to keep in touch with friends & family)
2. Nimbuzz (Combination of all in one like MSN, Yahoo!, Skype, Facebook ICQ etc, suitable for non-multitaskers)

I'm using Nimbuzz personally since I dont like burden my device with many open windows and complaint later on that my device halted or turn rebooting with low memory.

The choice is yours ..

I bought my device in September 2009 .. so far no problem, only I caused the problem .. by doing some research and modifying system files and configurations, actually my set already void warranty, as I took it part by part (autopsy successfull)

So far no problem even after i took it apart ..

simply .. i wanna see how it looks like inside ...

for light leakage, actually there's sponge type seperator between LCD and the touch screen cover, the RED mark is the square full seperator, most device have problem at the section which i marked yellow, means the seperator got thinned, so the light beam sneaks out from inside



tats all .. u can get it fixed by sending to NCC / where u bought the device and ask them replace the seperator ..

i think its not a small problem, since .. ure not going to offer RM1k for a defect device arent u? (for noobies) .. as for me i managed to fix it myself since i know wat went wrong, i suppose there are many N5800XM whom still struggling for such matters ..

no, its considered manufacturing defect, i could see the seperator actually sponge type and its kind of "pressed" .. i think it could be accidentally press by those whom fix the phone case.

Most N5800XM have light leak, the chances are 40% u get the good ones, and some first batches had earpiece problem too, and rear case loosen, u can see by shaking the phone, with battery intact ..

sure y not, the phone seller has no rights to deny ure going to inspect the device b4 purchasing .. its ure rights as a customer to undergo some details on the device, so u wont get stuck anywer in the middle ..

tats not hard reset .. tats soft reset ..

Hard reset is CALL "GREEN" BUTTON + ENDCALL "RED" BUTTON + CAMERA BUTTON + ON BUTTON .. hold all the 4 buttons until u get "PIN CODE" (if set) or COUNTRY SELECTION .. (hold those 4 buttons until ure hands shivering)
