QUOTE(archangel82 @ Dec 17 2009, 03:09 PM) Don't expect to watch WC live in HD bcoz HD broadcast will delay 1 hour this is what Astro customer service told me......... Why would they pay all that money and not play it live? That is completely incorrect It will be live and that was confirmed at their press release.

QUOTE(pirateguy @ Dec 17 2009, 12:36 AM) Again different opinion: While its true that CBS is using 1080i, but we are getting ESPN HD, which is 720p. ESPN HD UK uses 1080i, just like Sky HD does. Malaysia is a PAL region, not NTSC like US is. 720p for sport channels are only common in the US, and even that, not all broadcasters uses 720p for sports (example: CBS). In other places outside US, huge majority of sport channels uses 1080i, because that's the best resolution. The link you have is more relevant in NTSC US than other places around the world that uses PAL. In Malaysia's context, which one will be better? ESPN HD UK (1080i) that has English Premier League matches or ESPN HD US (720p) that mostly have only America-eccentric timeout-laden sports like basketball and American football? I am pretty damn sure that ESPN HD in Astro will have more contents from the former than the latter.
