Just to share with fellow forummers;

Booked online = 19/12/2009  ( a breeze) 
T&C Call        = 20/12/2009  ( by a very courteous and informative lady) 
Installed        = 23/12/2009  ( by a chap by the name of D. Ramesh - manual tuning though, no signal finder used thus
I was only obliged to offer plain ice water  )
system commissioned  =  5 mins after installation and configuration. 

all in all, I'm quite happy with the services rendered. Configured my Philips LCD to 1080i and it's all fine.
Can't wait for ESPNHD! 

now, how do I share 'em with my bedroom LCD, I wonder. Time for some research and DIY

I got mine installed yesterday, i agreed that the picture quality is good (close to Blu-ray but not as good) but I have issues with HBO HD's Dobly Digital 5.1. 

I am not sure has anyone else experience this:

Channel: HBO HD
Sound Setting: Dobly Digita 5.1 only

Front L & R channels seems to mixed up together with Center channel, but delay around 500ms, which sound like an echo when there is a dialog.

I do not think this is due to the source, but rather how it is being encoded by Astro.  I have called Astro, and spoken with one of the technical personal, hopefully they can get this resolve asap.

Btw, can anyone suggest:

1. a good and affordable HDMI input (single or multiple input) receiver/Home Theater System
2. a good and affordable Digital Coax input receiver/Home Theater System.

Other than B.yond set top I also have a HDMI DVD player and looking forward to complete
my home system with PS3 (for Blueray capability). I'm thinking of getting all of them to pass thru
a digital input or HDMI receiver for better audio quality.
Any advice would greatly be appreciated. Thanks.

my application was quite fast, Apply on Sunday, 20/12/2009 thru phone, 21/12/2009, T&C, 22/12/2009 evening, installer call for appointment, 23/12/2009 installation done.

yeah, the installer also stick the contact sticker on the box,

Hopefully after u call they will not ask you to wait and wait and wait until next year.
I'm curious it is 10 working days or 10 normal days?

Are u already get byond decoder? I will wait 2 more days so they cannot give more excused to ask me wait anymore.

ESPN HD not available right now...Coming in January 2010..

why can't? the current 1 can...if wanna watch upstair, just take the card enough already

i dn't think the new smart card can be used at the old decoder
some members tested it and it doesn't work
if can work...astro won't have to give u a new smart card already

can i change d byond remote(due to my problem) at astro service centre?
