...  u cant share the SD and HD with the same dish ...

*
so, how many dishes do you have now - because as far as I understand it, they only give you one dish and expect you to view your normal subscription SD channels as well as the HD channels

I am going to call them tomorrow to find their status ! Oh well I am not sure how their system works
*
I started this (calling Astro for HD) with very low expectations and so far they have managed to not surprise me wink.gif

In fact - they were supposed to call on the 15th, but only managed to on 18th. I am not holding my breath, or have any amount of optimism tongue.gif

One thing I don't get is why people say the disc cannot be shared between two decoders - one HD and one normal; doesn't the SD transmission come down the same dish and cable to the HD decoder?

Can you use an unbranded 'ahem' normal old astro remote on the Byond decoder?

I don't like having the new remote to be in the hands of kids given how they love to throw stuff.
*
just buy the kids a dummy remote la

..barely far better than actual hd videos
*
you are expecting hd sat transmission to be "far better" than actual HD videos? 1080i vs 1080p?

I think some people have unreasonable expectations that would not be the case if they had a little more knowledge

QUOTE(ryancfs @ Dec 21 2009, 12:05 PM)
so does that mean that even if i didn't subscribe to the movie package I still get HBO HD until april ?????  thumbup.gif
*
QUOTE(AjkR06 @ Dec 21 2009, 12:07 PM)
are u sure about this??  drool.gif
*
that would be a great way to entice those people who are on the fence about paying the additional RM20. come April 2010 they will be shut off, get withdrawal symptoms and promptly reconnect

To Astro I would say give all available HD channels to everyone regardless of the package they are on until April. We'll see who doesn't sign up new packages or continue.

QUOTE(accitzone @ Dec 22 2009, 09:22 AM)
it's hard to please everyone, especially the 'complainers'.... nothing is good enuff for them...

"astro SD? no good, pikcur like sohai, what u got HD? the HD pq is so so, oni, my ripped divx movie is soooooooooooooooo even bettah, and i DL it for free, and yadda yadda yadda"
*
ditto. it's getting really tiresome especially with non consequential, unreasonable and silly complaints

QUOTE(smileguy @ Dec 22 2009, 11:14 AM)
Friend dont complainlah  after they say we always complain only !!!!!!!!!! rclxm9.gif
*
complaining about logical things is ok - but to complain Sat channels cycle their daily programme is stupid. All sat channels operate this way

How does astro b.yond works with older CRT tv? Composite cable?
*
component la. if no component input, I suggest you do not waste RM20 every month to sign up for byond - stick with SD channels

Of course there is composite connection, but what would be the point?
