To everyone who is running Teknologist kernel, here is a tweak file for you guys released by Teknologist. I recommend you guys to update to Teknologist 1.9 kernel regardless on which MCR you are running. AFTER applying the Teknologist 1.9 kernel, apply this patch. Use the same method (Recovery -> Choose Zip -> tweak.zip) To those who want to know more about this tweak, read on. I had some great time playing with the Hero CPU with Teknologist. I found out that when Hero came out of sleep mode, it would be sluggish for a while until it gains back its full performance. Our Hero is capable of running at 528MHz frequency max. We have a few parameters for cpufreq and played with it the whole night. As teknologist tested his side, he found that when the phone returns back from sleep mode, the cpu frequency was capped (usually at about 488MHz) before going back to its optimum performance. I got different results and we assume this was a bug in the hero. Hence, Teknologist switched the cpu to performance mode. I thought it was a battery hog, but it turned out totally opposite. The battery usage is significantly improved and the CPU performance is awesome. I did some extra tests too in addition to Teknologist's version and I guess we are in optimum level for the cpu for now. Further tweaks may not be related to CPU so it seems like Teknologist will have to crack his mind for other methods Have fun guys. Mods, please sticky this until next version of Teknologist's kernel is released. This is a very small fix so I dont think the kernel is worth recompiling yet. Bro, you should provide links to the author's website and thread. Or his twitter.
I think this thread is improper without link or mention to the original work :-)

Its a discussion between me and Teknologism. The content is not copy paste from anywhere. Its based on what I talked with Teknologism. And the file was sent personally to me. If you want teknologists, website, then you can get it here: http://android.teknologism.comIf thats what you need.. Oh, and I have permission from Teknologist to share this file. I did mention that the file was created by him and not me. I don't see anything thats improper.

Thanks shahz... It improves the CPU clocking for overall..but the largest affect is on wake up from sleep..I feel MCR 2.8 was better in performing over long durations, but after applying this patch, you can upgrade to 3.0 and it will be perfect..I'll pick a time to pack the 3.0 and update my tutorial thread..I hope I'll get enough time soon..

i have upgrade to MCR3.0. It's more smooth comparing to MCR2.8. but wonder will the battery drain faster. Take your time, no worry. Added on December 11, 2009, 1:35 amThe battery actually last longer comparing to ori Rom and MCR2.8 previously if i use onli phone call, msg and calander, notes will take me 60% of battery for 12 hours usage. Currently it drops to 40% only, which i can last at least 36 hours if i use with minimal phone call, msg... etc without games or other heavy apps. this is really a good news. And the Ram utilize by the apps seems little compare to last time??? did i see it wrongly? any tweak done for the RAM usage? This post has been edited by dannyh83: Dec 11 2009, 01:35 AM
