this looks correct - perhaps the subwoofer setting in the receiver is OFF?

Yes, that's the correct setting. If no sound, then probably faulty input / output.

look carefully, the subwoofer in the picture has one line in and one line out

anyway, if a sub has two low level inputs (line-in) - is one of them switched off at any given moment? plugging one line in should be sufficient; usually, the user manual will recommend one of the inputs. or of course you can use a Y cable

few things I got to ask:

1. Why are u connecting your rear surround to 2 speaker each. R u saying that you have 4 rear speakers now?
2. Where is your front 2 speakers? I didnt see you connecting anything to the left and right for the front speakers at your amp?
3. As others mention, if your RCA line out is kaput already, another alternative you can do is, connect your left and right out from your front speaker connection at your amp. Notice you this amp got A/B. So use the B one to connect to the left and right of your sub woofer. But I do hope your sub has a Xover though.

my suggestion is to connect your woofer as shown in "connecting an amplifier with double (A+B)". So you can use your Amp to control the volume of your sub thru B speakers connection, maybe xover as well. Dont know your amp much though... so find out what your amp can do in speaker B setting.

Do you have CrossOver setting at your sub?
If yes, than u r lucky... ha ha ha

If not, check if your amp can cross over at speaker B setting.
Hope it works...
