Ubuntu still need some commands and terminal tricks  laugh.gif

Its fun to learn n play with it once you've mastered it

And yes , Windows is very easy to mod

*
i cant give suggestion for both coz im not use samurize...but rainmeter also run fast when startup..its depend on ur system too.. nod.gif

my 4gb RAM pc only use less than 5mb for rainmeter..

so,its categorized as light app too...just my 2 cents... icon_rolleyes.gif

ops forgot to mention...
Windows 7
*
btw,u must install first universal theme patcher....link

then,after download,extract n run...it will automatically detect ur os version whether x86 o x64...u just follow what files u must install...(normally win 7 need 3 patcher...)then,it will ask u to restart...

after restart...get admin permission n copy theme system files to system32(if x86) or system64(if im not mistaken) for x64

then, after done copying all files, reboot or just logout n try running ur theme at appearance(contol panel).. icon_rolleyes.gif

try first....im not remember anymore one by one steps...but try it first... nod.gif

u can go to hardware Q&A section..they will help u choose better spec...

for custom,u can refer other forumer custom at january 2011 desktop thread... nod.gif

u can use dreamscene video as wallpaper, use rainmeter, rocketdock etc.. icon_rolleyes.gif

Hey guys. I know this question is kinda redundant, but anyone knows how to make the windows 7 taskbar gone?

Kinda turned of when you're trying to keep things minimal in the desktop.

Any ways to hide it besides the auto-hide,turn off lock and by using objectdock?

Thanks

Hi all the sifus, just wana ask something. I wana make windows 7 look like mac os leopard. Whats the best way now with the lowest resource consumption?
*
btw,u can change to custom visual style...but in low resources usage, its depend on what kind of custom u use for... nod.gif

for visual style, u can visit this link,devianart..just choose what kind of theme u want,n lets me or others know if any prob u get... smile.gif

Cause i worry that my startup time will be affected. Normal usage i think i have enough RAM to spare. For visual style what kind of software is preferred? I installed objectdock and rainmeter ady. But dunno how to start. Haha!
*
haha..that very critical prob bro... tongue.gif tongue.gif

any question u can ask me by PM,because i think this is not the right place to talk about that,

plus,i can help u more detail if possible... nod.gif

for startup time,if just visual style installed without other 3rd party software(like rainmeter and objectdock), it not effected much.... smile.gif

for rainmeter,it depend on how much skin u use n what kind of skin...

no no,i dont mean u spamming this topic....btw,this topic is general,so whatever question about desktop modding can be post here.... blush.gif

i just mean if want more detail about your answer ,u can PM me..thats all... nod.gif

for visual style theme,no need other software, just change ur default system files to custom made from theme u want...

Er... Anyone having problem with the Windows7's Mac theme by "sagorpirbd"? It not just not working on my Windows 7 64-bit build 7600, but also courupted some system stuff! >_> (some pop out panel such as open file missing the left navigation panel!)

Urgh... Just format my windows later when got time. It's super inconvenient working without the folder tree navigation >_>

Edit:
Ah nvm, I'm knew the dll was spoiled. Finally found the solution here-
http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums...d2-088a88c301c6
Gonna deal with it once I'm done my 3D rendering task  hmm.gif
*
ah,personally i dont like that theme..not adorable too.... tongue.gif

i think its not ur .dll spoiled, but explorer.exe... nod.gif just find any explore.exe at net or devianart, boot as ubuntu, and change ur .exe...then,i think everything will back to normal...

thats what i use if any of my system files corrupted... icon_rolleyes.gif

Hi guys, i'm having a bit of problem with my windows atm. I think i was trying to change my theme and such (not rainmeter, but like something with universalthemepatcher), and then my red 'x' button is a bit cacat atm, like red, but without the 'x' and has a pixelated part to me T_T

It's like super ugly and i was wondering if anyone know how i could restore it? I tried system restoring it before, and it came back, but then i restarted my computer and it's cacat again @@
*
first of all, i would like to know..what exactly 'atm' is???? hmm.gif
