So, who here bought that M6? brows.gif

As a whole, not only flashlights but batteries & accessories, 2009 was moneyflies.gif laugh.gif a good year of flashaholism.

Grats to all who have made it this far tongue.gif

I'm looking forward and interested to see what manufacturers and LEDs will take us this year.

Hehe, yeah sweat.gif It depends on the price too. Looking at Olight's monster, that light will cost a bomb.

Ok, whoever is going to the states has got to get me a HID.
The HID bug has hit me really bad.

1 mile clear illumination with a light that only costs about RM450.

Sunforce 25 million Candlepower HID

last night, one of the students in my campus had an accident...

it was 11pm, and the road was really dark at the scene... its around the rural area of Rompin, Pahang...

the car skid of the road and flew into a trench... well not really deep.. but still, its full of mud...

when i arrive with my friend, there was already a Toyota Hilux, a Polis peronda there(doing nothing)..
the officer had a flashlight(pasar malam gred)... just could barely suluh to see the tyre or plate number...

and there i was, a proud flashaholic took out my 1st weapon..
the Quark AA, upgraded into 18650 mode...

i lit the whole area, and now we could see the entire car in the mud..
quoted from the officer, "huih, lagi terang lampu kau dari aku punya.."....

waiting for the tow truck to arrive, i pass to my friend my P100C2 to keep on illuminating the car for the boys who were riding it before, to take out their stuff..
and i engage strobe mode to warn other cars passing by to slow down....

it was almost a 3 hours incident... before they manage pull out the car and we were able to go home...
by that time, i had my old Fenix L2d with the red filter on the head plus i strap the long white diffuser on it to turn the diffuser into an orange color emergency wand.. (such a quick DIY on the spot!!)

but seriously, if i only had the AA body for my Quark, i could only use it for almost an hour on max or 3 times changing the 14500 in it..
but 18650 body, almost 3 hours on max(more on strobe mode)... cool huh??

a second real life incident involving my babies in actions, after the 1st one where one of my friend had a broken bike by the road side..

last night, what was really in my head is... IF ONLY I HAD A "HID" RIGHT NOW.... hahahahha....

I think the Sunforce will throw further too, but I like the PH40's balance flood/throw and tint biggrin.gif

Nice story Makuyo! The police force should really equip their kereta ronda with proper flashlights IMHO. Very important in any type of tactical and emergency situation.

Makuyo,

1. that is a good assistant you gave there.
2. I believed at least someone realised that they need to edc a good flashlight

most of the time what we need is a flood light rather than a thrower. Unless you are a hunter or SAR personnel, than a thrower is a must. We are lucky here cause not many situation we come across a thick fog, otherwise we will discuss more on color of light.

p/s: imagine I'm the supplier of quality flashlight to PDRM or ATM ...... to make thing much better, I'm the SOLE supplier .....

Thanks strinq, pseudoblue, jwyj, Striderman, and others for the comments...

hahahah... yeap.. flood light was the better choice in my situation..

at least my Quark has the balance ratio of both throw and flood...

surely i think some people at the scene would really consider on getting a better flashlight...
